I think 1/16" was a well liked size when I was asking. I went with it and was happy for a while. Decided I liked smaller. It's hard to drill holes smaller.
I think some people go a lot bigger now.
It depends on what you're building and what you like.

I would start small and work your way up in as small of increments as you can. I generally go with 1.25mm to 1.5mm

I probably should have mentioned I like to sub ohm too haha that would have been good info I usually like my builds from .4 and under so what would you recommend?

Get something that is adjustable and try it out. It does not have to be a device you will continue to use. Try it tight and try it loose and decide which you like better. Then say I like a ...... draw, what size holes would you recommend for a xxxxx dripper? Then, like Myk said, drill smaller and work your way up.

I want to drill the airhole out in my rda but don't know what size? I like doing lung inhales but I also like to do mouth to lung whenever I want to do tricks so what would be a good size for both lung and mouth to lung inhales?

Air hole size affects the amount of air flow you can get over your coil. The more power you put on the coil the more air flow you need.

I've never researched this, but looking at the attys I have now running on mech mods and the resistances I use on them here's what I think are appropriate starting points (the small end of the air hole size scale for me):

Ohms Air hole size
1.5 0.045"
1.0 0.065"
0.5 0.125"

If I wanted to play with both lung and mouth hits on the same air hole I would try around 1/16" (0.062").

For sure, the more power you put on the coil, the bigger the air hole needs to be. Once you get more than about 15 watts on the coil you need to lung inhale or you're simply wasting the extra power.

And yes, getting and working with an adjustable airflow atty would be great to see what you like. I have a Trident that is very good for this and allows dual coils to be played with also :)

I don't know, I don't like sub. I'd rather use more voltage with more wire than less voltage with less wire.

One reason I decided smaller was better is air speed. I was messing with a dual that had choices of airholes and found I could actually go higher voltage with the smaller hole. As long as I didn't try to keep the same pressure/airflow between sizes the idea of larger equals more flavor, smaller equals throat hit didn't hold as true.
