If you yourself have any real intelligence, sense of fairness, charity and patience (which I doubt given your last "below the belt" attempt at '60s (actually mebe mid or late '90s) bass astuteness, I offer this tid-bit of bass "trivia" from a more organic source and closer to my heart...geographically speaking from an earlier era.

I saw Santana about a year earlier than that was shot at Selland Arena in Fresno CA. Two almost unknown (Google is powerful) groups open for them - "Bicycle" and "Birth" from the Bay Area. Santana's 1st album had recently come out but they were still relatively unknown...at least in the central San Joaquin Valley, even a year or so after Woodstock.
News traveled slower then.
