Yeah, that's what reminded me of Schizoid...an ELP song came up in my playlist while working out today. Made me think of Lake, and remembered he was in King Crimson. I'd forgotten about Schizoid, since I don't have that album in my collection anymore. I still remember the first time I heard Schizoid- I was about 14, had a Sankyo dual cassette deck and recorded a lot of songs from FM late at night, and when that one came up, I was like - wow! Who the hell is that???
I remember those Dual Cassette days. Mixed Tapes for Parties and Road Trips to Mexico. ELP seemed to find it's way onto a Lot of those Tape.
I didn't know that King Crimson did the Original version of 21st Century Schizoid Man till years later. I thought ELP did it. That time period was/is kinda a blur. Lots of Window Pane. And Shrooms on Pizza.

I wore the grooves out of those Early Yes albums. And there are too many Great Songs to pick a favorite.

April Wine? You're a friggin' rock encyclopedia. I remember they had a semi-hit in the 70's that was pretty good, but can't remember what it was. I do remember their name, though. I think they might've opened for a band I saw.
Yes, I remember hearing - after The Yes Album, my first knowledge of them- older covers they did of the Beatles, and really, basically pop music, and being shocked that they ever did that. But the America song doesn't really fit in that category. They owned their version, and it's beautiful. I saw them every chance I got, I think it was 3-4 times in the 70's.
Yeah... It always Blew my Mind how far Country they took their version. Whole lotta Pick'n n' Grin'n going on around the 6:00 mark. And a whole lot of Cajun riffs at 8:00. Something I Didn't know they had it in them? And something that sounded like they do it All the Time.
It just seemed so Out of Character for Yes at that time. But Sounded so Good. They Definitely put a Stamp on It.
I've seen (early) Yes a couple of times. And they put on a Great Show. The "In the Round" show at the Anaheim Convention Center (79?) was Nothing Short of Magical.
Harder Faster album. A great sound out of their guitars and good timing as a band.

Many said that April Wine (at the time) was going to be the 2nd Coming of RUSH. And that Canada was the next Hot Bed of Mega Bands.
It just Didn't go as well as many thought it might.
I saw the "In the Round" at ATL's Omni. Yeah, they really did it with the light shows in those days - they and Genesis reinvented the "experience" part of a concert. It's funny, I can't remember which show- might've been at the Fox Theater (incredible venue), but we had great seats. Wakeman, by the end of the show, had a line of empty PBR cans on his keyboard, probably a dozen. I remember thinking how odd that was - such a classy sound, from a guy that was swilling what was considered "redneck" beer at the time. Not even a Mich or Lowenbrau.
Wow, that takes me back. I remember all of those...and the innovative nod to Beatles/Stones at the end of I Like to Rock. I'd completely forgotten their songs.
