I'm starting a regular supplement regimen to see if it really helps my physical and mental health:

Kirkland Premium Performance multivitamin x 2
(Serving Size: 1 Tablet Each Tablet Contains - % Daily Value: Vitamin A 5000 IU (66% as Beta Carotene) 100%, Vitamin C 120 mg - 200%, Vitamin D 400 IU - 100%, Vitamin E 75 IU - 250%, Vitamin K 80 mcg - 100%, Thiamin (Vit. B1) 5.25 mg - 350%, Riboflavin (Vit. B2) 6 mg - 353%, Niacin 50 mg - 250%, Vitamin B6 10 mg - 500%, Folic Acid 400 mcg - 100%, Vitamin B12 25 mg - 417%, Biotin 60 mcg - 20%, Pantothenic Acid 10 mg - 100%, Calcium 165 mg - 17%, Iron 9 mg - 50%, Phosphorus 130 mg - 13%, Iodine 150 mcg - 100%, Magnesium 50 mg - 13%, Zinc 15 mg - 100%, Selenium 200 mcg - 286%, Copper 3.5 mg - 175%, Manganese 7.5 mg 375%, Chromium 200 mcg - 167%, Molybdenum 75 mcg - 100%, Chloride 90 mg - 3%, Potassium 100 mg - 3%, Boron 60 mcg - *, Nickel 6.5 mcg - *, Silicon 4 mg - *, Tin 10 mcg - *, Vanadium 10 mcg - *, Lutein 250 mcg - *, Lycopene 300 mcg - *, Asian Ginseng Root (Korean Root (Korean white) Extract 55 mg (Panax ginseng) (standardized to 7% Ginsenosides 3.85 mg) - *, Ginkgo Biloba Extract (Ginkgo biloba) (leaf) (standardized to 24% (14.4 mg) Ginkgo Flavone Glycosides) 60 mg - *.)
Calcium carbonate 500mg x 3
Omega Fatty acid 500mg
Acetylcholine 1.4 g
Piracetam 2.5 g
Melatonin 3mg at night

In addition I am taking other supplements for weight loss:
Ephedrine sulfate 25mg 3x a day
Caffeine 300mg a day (mostly through coffee)
Alli 60mg 3x a day with meals

Thinking of trying Lipo 6x once I use up all my ephedrine (it's losing its effect - I can sleep within 2 hours of taking one if I skip the caffeine and the appetite suppression isn't as great anymore).

I want to improve my cardiovascular fitness and lose weight - before I used to have decent endurance (3-5 miles a day, 5x a week at 9 min/mile pace) but my supplementation was lacking and I have a relatively poor diet (high red meat, high glycemic index carbs, some fruit or none) so I got knocked out of my fitness fast by fatigue and colds. Now I'm at 1 mile a day, 3-4x a week at a 10 min/mile pace...

What do you guys usually take daily? And did it really improve your health?

It looks like you have your bases covered pretty well. I am taking a 100mg niacin tablet once a day, to help open and clear capillaries (lung, mostly) it's the FLASHING kind, makes you feel really hot and turns your skin pretty red and "itchy" for about 1/2 and hour~ it's working! And also a good coral calcium ~ but I'm 62, so need extra help with clearing toxins, after smoking my whole life. Drink lots of green tea, and do pursed lip breathing exercises several times a day.....if you're aggressive enough will tighten core muscles to also aid in freer breathing volume. Other than that I just vape all the time!

How's the Alli working for you??

It's not that simple - if you don't get all your required minerals and nutrients you will get sick because building muscle and connective tissue uses more of it than normally required, not to mention that exercise can temporarily lower immune function because of all the stress. It's literally impossible to fulfill nutritional needs without supplementation without eating an excessive amount of calories. For example, when I have my 3-4 month running binges I have usually been knocked off the path by a debilitating cold or flu or by fatigue and the lack of motivation that arises from this fatigue (anyone would hate having their mileage getting cut in half). I know that these things happened because my nutritional requirements weren't being met by my diet and my mediocre supplementation regimen (I literally didn't take a multi-vitamin for weeks). When you're trying to lose weight it's also important for your general health to obtain the proper amounts of nutrients because your immune system will be especially vulnerable with the deficit in calories!
Shortest Fitness Book Ever...

Eat Less + Exercise More = Weight loss
Eat More + Exercise More = Muscle Gain

Gashin, are you working with a nutritionalist, or an MD? Maybe you need to do that rather than work on your own. Sometimes we try to cover too much with supplements, that can be a slippery slope, for sure. Many people have shortened and endangered their life by relying on Pharma advertising.
There is nothing better than proper diet, sufficient exercise, and a good attitude. Your body is a work of art, don't try to fingerpaint it with man-made hype junk. There's no magic pill. "You got knocked out by colds and fatigue" tells me you are not going about this right.
That's what starvation gets you.

I actually have a B.S. in bio from a leading research university... I understand the mechanisms of human physiology/cell biology pretty well. What I have found is that nutritionists are oriented mostly towards the mainstream and established nutritional doctrines - they don't really use the latest research. My friend is training to become a dietician - the curriculum he's taking is less in-depth than what I took to get my biology degree. The problem with proper diet is that it still doesn't cover all the body's requirements for vitamins/minerals unless you're willing to eat a ton of food which means weight gain. Multivitamins, though not as good as real food obviously, do help fill in the gap. I'm not into most pharma advertising - I research the stuff I take from clinical studies in medical/research journals. Yes I admit I was eating only around 1800 cal daily, during my running binges :). But my nutrition was also lacking... I was getting enough protein (90g a day) and carbs and had tons of energy before the crashes but I think my immune system was compromised because I was malnourished.

Hmm... sounds interesting. Have you tried using bronkaid or other stimulant bronchodilators?

Hey Cash,

Did glucosamine work noticeably well for you? I usually don't get sore joints but I want to take something that'll help me recover faster. Wow 4500mg is a lot - all the ones I've seen are around 500mg a pill with a rec dose of 1500mg. But then again you are working out and had the TFCC :(. I hate milk haha which is why I'm taking a calcium supplement.

Wow that's a good regimen for a heavy lifter. What kind of thermogenics have you found to work well? Also is that actual HGH or a pro-hormone? Do the Cholesterol reducers work well?

Thanks!

Nah, not actual HGH...Not really a pro-hormone, either, but it's the same concept...Forces the body to secrete HGH.

The tribulus is nice...increases free testosterone by about 30%...Makes me a MONSTER on the lifts...My body says "no more, please" but my mind says "SHUT UP, YOU! GET TA LIFTIN!" Also, since the muscles repair much faster the residual soreness is minimized.

I've been taking a cayenne based thermo...I don't go for that ephedra crap...I'd rather my heart NOT fall out.

And yes...the cholesterol support works well...They guarantee it and my doc backs them up ;)

A tip for those on omegas (6 and 9)...It can precipitate prostate cancer so make sure you're on a VERY good anti-oxidant.

Hi there,

So are you all vapers? I havent really seen any posts of people mentioning whether their fitness levels got better by switching from Analog smoking. I have been smoking and excercising for a while, but I have drastically cut down my analog smoking over the past week and can already feel my lungs handling a little more than before- but I was thinking it my just be psychological...

I don't know yet - I just did a 5 mile jog/walk in the heat yesterday with lots of uphills. I almost died and had to stop multiple times. It was like my muscles weren't that aching and I wasn't breathing hard but I just couldn't make myself walk. Probably just the heat though....

I'm very sceptical of using supplements generally - having a varied diet will cover all your nutritional needs - plus smokers should be aware of this research: BBC NEWS | Health | Vitamin E linked to lung cancer

In 2002 a Finnish study of 29,000 male smokers found taking beta-carotene - which is converted into vitamin A in the body - was linked to an 18% increased risk of developing lung cancer

I was too until I realized that every one I knew was prescribed to take supplements by their physicians. You can't get everything from varied foods unless you're willing to eat an excessive amount of alories.

My protein mix is a whey isolate...90%, 100% bioavailable, 100% denatured whey. 120 cals and 26mg protein per serving plus L-Glutamine, the full compliment of branch chain amino acids and the slamminest strawberry flavor EVER.

I drink it because I LIKE it...It's that good.

I'm about to start on a cycle of separate BCAA's and Glutamine to supplement the stuff I'm getting from my Creatine stack and protein shakes.

I'm thinking about changing to another HGH secretagogue that's supposed to be a lot stronger and more effective. I should get wicked massive gains and cuts in very short order.

I think I'm going to go on a liver cleanser as well.

My friend found this one protein mix - it had 60 mg per serving at only 160 calories. I'll ask him what it's called. Do you think BCAA's and glutamine helped significantly? I tried glutamine capsules but it didn't seem to do much. Creatine does work though. What HGH synagogue are you using? I'm tempted to try it.
