I'm still a noob to vaping, but seems that I find something new every day that makes vaping so much better than smoking. For example, how much cleaner my car, phone, iPad, and remotes are now that they aren't covered in ashes anymore... What surprised me the most though was discovering that I don't like the taste of tobacco! When I was doing my research on what company I wanted to go with, I was only interested in tobacco flavored juice. I ordered a bunch of disposables from different companies, all in regular flavor. One company sent me menthols by mistake (instantly removed them from consideration as my vendor). At first I was mad, but then discovered the mint taste was pretty good so happy surprise. I ordered mint juice with my starter kit and love it. I tried an analog the other day (not out of craving, my 24mg juice is doing the job well), but just to see if I miss it. BLECH! Tasted horrible! I think now I only ever liked the taste of tobacco because my brain knew that flavor was providing the nicotine I'm addicted to. Now that I can get my nicotine in any flavor imaginable, I don't want anything to do with tobacco flavored juice! So that's been my biggest surprise. I'd like to hear some other stories of surprises all of you have found!

I kinda figured it would never taste like a cigarette right from the start, but what DID surprise me was liking menthol... I was a marlboro red smoker for 10 years, and menthol was gross, but now... Fruit flavors with menthol are outstanding! I've been vaping over a year and a half, and I just tried those last month because I was sure I would hate them, but boy was I wrong.

Haha I recognize the OP... He's starting to drink the koolaid... I foresee within 6-8 months, he will own either a Provari, or a GG...

LMAO just playing around with ya HOPS.
HaHa... Only time will tell, but still loving my 65mm's with ce3's. For my money ya just can't beat the portability and simplicity! Who knows though, just ordered some stuff from SI today and the only reason I din't buy an X2 is because the clearomizers were out of stock lol!

What surprised me.....well, I have a list (lol):
- The smell of cigarettes is utterly delicious. I know a lot of vapers who can't stand the smell of smoke, but I love it. And, 9/10 times I can tell you what brand they're smoking. It's a sick fascination.
- I really hate the taste of tobacco eliquids (anyone want ~90ml of Johnson Creek?)
- I actually know what an ohm is.
- I can skip taking a shower every day since I won't smell like stale smoke.
- The huge number of people who think vaping is SO COOL. Which is weird. And awesome at the same time.

Hmm... I've never tried Johnson Creek before, but I hear good things. If I had any funds I'd take it off your hands.

My biggest surprise was in what I didnt know I wasnt smelling until I could smell it again :) I'd read about people's sense of smell returning to them after vaping for a few weeks but I guess I had to experience it myself. It was a fall afternoon when it had rained during the morning and early afternoon but had stopped raining before it was time for me to leave work. I walked out the door and down the steps and sidewalk to my car and suddenly stopped when I realized I was smelling the fresh smell of raindrops on the grass nearby. It was at that moment that I realized it had been years since I had smelled that gentle fresh wonderful smell and hadnt even realized it until that very moment :) :) :)

Surprising how I can smell a smoker walking buy me, and I can't believe I used to smell that bad too. I would pop an altoid and think i was fine. Can't imagine what my clients said under their breath after I left the room!

Oh yea...this is definitely on the top of the list of things that surprised me...

Oh, and that first bite of heavily seasoned food, after your taste buds have completely come back... I never noticed that smoking affected my taste buds, until I tasted some food that just a couple months prior had the perfect amount of garlic...

I guess the big surprise was that I turned a nasty habit into a very enjoyable hobby.

Yeah, still blows me away. And nowadays there is so much variety, it's truly a hobby. I spend more time than I could imagine looking at new products, reading about DIY and modding. It helps that the vaping community is so kind and enthusiastic, too. One of the best online communities going, if you ask me.

I'd say one of my biggest surprises is how, even when I do smoke the occasional cigarette, I find myself sitting there, tasting the awful thing, and thinking, "Ya know, I'd rather be vaping." That blows me away. Also, the fact I LIKE to vape the exact kinds of juices I would roll my eyes at when I first started. I only like tobacco flavored juices on very rare occasions, I prefer a tasty, sweet, nutty juice, and anything with caramel. So strange.

The biggest thing for me was my smell coming back. I work shipping and receiving and I have this one driver that comes in everyday and I never noticed it before but he REEKS of stale smokes, its so bad I don't even want to stand and talk to him. I amazes me that I never picked up on that before and worst of all I'm sure I smelt the same way to other people

A ton of things. How bad my truck, which I smoked in for 5 years, smells to me now. How much time I was dedicating to smoking. How happy I am that I'm not worried that my non-smoking wife isn't being put off by my smoking breath anymore. How adventurous I'm becoming about flavors now, after being dogmatically insistent about smoking the same brand for 20 years. How smooth the transition has gone. Having the urge to vape rather than smoke. Not feeling the repeated shame of failing to stop smoking over and over because I'm sure I'm going to make it this time. The dizzying myriad of equipment and flavor options available. How good Halo Tribecca tastes with a glass of Cabernet. How I no longer feel like a second-class citizen.

I could go on and on.

What surprised me the most was that, after 55 years of sturggling almost daily to quit smoking cigarettes, I could use an ecig (a Volcano Inferno, to give credit where it is due) for one day and NEVER have the desire to smoke another analog AT ALL! Not the least bit of craving, withdrawal or desire. AMAZING!

Ditto, except with me it was only 30 years, and a Blu that got me off the cigarettes. WOW! Just amazing that I am a non smoker now for over a whole month! I never imagined it could really happen!
