Hi guys,

So I have been tobacco free for a few months now and something is puzzling me, when I was smoking tobacco, the first thing I would do as soon as I woke up is have a cigarette, I mean id have to have one, now im vaping (with nicotine) I do not feel like this anymore, I get up have a coffee, potter around a bit then get my vape on. I assumed this used to be from nicotine addiction but apparently not, any ideas?

The list of chemicals in cigarette smoke is ridiculously long. It could be any one or combination of them that creates that strong compulsion to smoke. It's a real eye-opener for all of us when we first realize that our dependence wasn't (at least not solely) for nicotine

You, like the rest of us, believed it because that's what we were told. And I don't blame the experts, as I think they believed it too. But now that the entire premise has come into question, they won't re-examine it. So now, I call them liars. And question every other thing they have ever told me.

ETA: And THIS is why I love the internet (and why the 'experts' hate it). Prior to this free flow of information, we had no choice to believe them as they were our only source of information. Now we can confront them, and they don't like it.

well we know that when we smoked, that combustion let to a dopamine dump in your brain...we get hooked on that rush. Crave it even.

I'm way more slow and mellow (less OMG I've got to have it NOW) vaping than I was with that "gotta have it now smoke" mornings, or whenever.

but there's way more than just nicotine in those coffin nails, my friend...Congrats on quitting!! :)

I am a poor sleeper and if I woke in the night I would have a stinky stick. Since I started vaping I just turn over and go back to sleep. Sometimes I don't even wake in the night now which is amazing to me.
When I get up in the mornings first thing I do now is not light up a cigarette or have a Vape. I too potter about, make a cuppa tea and then settle down to enjoy a Vape without that constant pressure of I've just got to do this right now. I can't explain it anymore than anyone else but it sure feels like FREEDOM :)

I vape with my coffee because it goes good together..
That first cup of the day is the one that counts..
That is a ritual that i enjoy..

The one that really got me when i smoked was after eating..
I don't really do that one anymore..
i vape when i'm bored really more than anything..
Sometimes i'll even be like..wow i haven't had a vape in a good bit and hit one and it's like Daaaamn that's some good vape!!:vapor:

A few months back, somewhere around my 6 month mark, I decided to see just how long I could go without jonesing for a vape.
Didn't put the gear up or hide them. Got up around 7, made coffee, went about my normal routine. When I went shopping I tucked my mod in my purse. When I settled in to watch my tv that night I absently reached for it about halfway thru the show. I didn't even think about it. 15 hours or so and it was out of reflex not because I "needed".

BT can keep their enhancements tyvm.

I wonder how long it will take BT to start adding similar acting chemicals to their Vape products?

wouldnt be suprised if they already do...found an unopened blu cart that had been laying round for maybe two months...didnt realize how much they burned my throat since i was a dual user when i was a blu user....even the juices i havent ordered more than once cuz of tasting too chemically to me havent burned like that cart did

I spend most weekends at my parents and due to my fathers many health problems including COPD I don't vape in the house, I maybe do 1-2 ML in the day and a half I'm there whereas at home I'm 3-5 ml per day or more if I drip but I never get that gotta have one NOW feeling. Quitting vaping would be fairly easy, but runs the risk of smoking again in the future, because I still sorta miss smoking just not enough to stop vaping and I can't do both.

Edit: So nicotine isn't addictive (reading the above links) good to know and even more reason for me to try and stop using the stuff, because if I don't need it why spend so much (relative to the other ingredients i e-liquid) on it and the way things are going e-liquid will end up with tax on it and the only thing you can't buy from any drug store is the nicotine, OK only some sell the flavourings but we could live without those.
