Here's what I'm shooting for:

50/50 mix or close to it
1.8% nic or close

For now I like the tobacco flavors, but I've had a couple of others that I've liked, such as watermelon and Mom and Pop's Crazy Ape. Love M&P's RY4 and V2 cig's Desert Ship. Menthol isn't my thing though I enjoy it every once in a while.

What I was thinking about ordering (from Wizard Labs) just to get started:

36% nic in VG- 250 ml
PG- 250 ml PG is easy for me to get locally if I need more, but I don't want to buy a gallon right now, even if it is only $17.

the additives- EM, AP and smooth, maybe koolada

tobacco flavors- ry4 double(3), flue cured, and black honey tobacco

other flavors- marshmallow, coconut, vanillin, caramel, cinnamon roll, graham cracker. Bavarian cream, banana nut bread and cinnamon danish are sold out.

also thinking about some fun stuff- apple pie, blueberry, absinthe, Hawaiian punch, strawberry(which one?). Any other suggestions?

I'd like to try some of the VZ super concentrated tobaccos, but for now I'd like to get everything in one place.

Does this sound like a decent starting point?

That sounds like an excellent starting point. Here are a few things I can't live without:

1mL syringes for small amount measurements (get several, unless you enjoy rinsing each syringe after use with each flavor)
3mL syringes for medium amount measurements
10 mL syringe for base liquid
Graduated cylinder

Good luck!

... get several, unless you enjoy rinsing each syringe after use with each flavor...

Why would one need to do that?!?!?

Otherwise, gotta agree with da larger syringes and graduated cylinders.

Where is the best place to get syringes? I've got a couple blunt needles but no syringes... I would prefer to have non-sharp syringe tips if possible, thanks!

I usually get mine from Valley Vet or Jeffers when I order other stuff- free shipping over $60. But I don't think even the most avid DIY mixer would need that many syringes! Unless you're in a huge metro area, try to find a farm store like TSC, Southern States or Agway- I'm pretty sure they all carry syringes (needles, too, depending on the state).

I've got plenty of syringes kicking around...I have a farm, and I'm also a nurse. I'll probably need to get some bigger needles, though- most of mine are 20-22g! Graduated cylinders sound like a good idea.

VG and 20g needles are not a good combo  I picked up a couple of 14ga blunt needles from WL and am pretty happy with them, though they're a bit large when you're mixing 3ml samples.

From one newb to another, keep a light touch if you're adding Koolada. It's neat stuff for sure, but it'll light you up if you add too much. Or so I hear

As far as flavors go, I tried to pick things that would work well with each other across the board with just one or two exceptions, and so far that's proven to be a decent plan. It looks like your list is similar to mine except for the absinthe...

I bought the strawberry (Ripe) by TFA; it's pretty good and I'm happy with that choice, but I've nothing to compare it against. It seems mild, but has a nice, ripe flavor (go figure...).

I'm going to vote for strawberry ripe as well. I do a mix of it at 15% with 2% cherry blossom (but I suspect you could sub in another subtle flavor for that), 1.5% lemon juice and a couple of drops of koolada in a 50/50 mix that my boys really love.

You also may like the vanilla swirl as an add in flavor. Sort of a soft vanilla ice cream flavoring.

Wait ok.. so what size needle should I get for very small measurements? Should I get a wide range of needle sizes? Is there a good online vendor with syringes? I imagine I will need a few that can measure 1/10th of ml, and maybe a couple that measure single ml's, and maybe one or two that are larger for like 10-50ml? Any recommendations?

Right now I have a 16 and 17 gauge needle for luer lock syringes. Are these good enough?

If you want easy, WL and most other DIY vendors have syringes and needles available. They're available cheaper, but it's not a huge savings until you start buying in bulk. 16ga needles should be fine for raw and NIC PG & VG, 20ga or slightly higher for pg based flavors. If you get too small with the flavor needles (27ga and up) it'll be difficult to draw the fluids from their containers.

I have not found 1ml syringes with the luer lock ends, but the luer lock needles will still work on 1ml press-fit syringes.

I have a few sharp needles but chose to pick up some of the blunt end needles 'cause I know, sooner or later, I'll stick one through my hand, cause myself to flinch and knock over something else that'll pour onto an electrical outlet starting a fire that'll...
Well, you get the picture. :)

Keep your quantities small 'till you mix a few recipes. Once you do, you'll figure out the process and the next steps for materials. For now, I'm sticking with 1,3,6, and 1ml syringes, 14,16, & 20ga needles. I'm mixing in my 3ml & 10ml containers.

Last tip: protect the markings on your syringes with clear packing tape or clear fingernail polish; they will wash off after a few uses.

Awesome, thanks!
I just checked WL and they have 1ml luer lock syringes... I emailed them hoping I could add to my order before they ship my nicotine! I wish I thought of getting syringes and stuff there before I ordered!!

I emailed them requesting:

10x 1ml syringes
10x 3ml syringes
10x 5ml syringes
3x 10ml syringes
3x 20ml syringes
15x 14ga blunt tips
15x 16ga blunt tips
1x pack of small nitrile gloves
5x 30ml amber glass bottle
5x 60ml amber glass bottle

Hopefully that should be plenty to get me started! I've got a bunch of empty plastic juice bottles as well I can use for now..

Looks like I will have to get some sort of cabinet or compartment system going, haha!

That's more than enough. You'll be set for a long time as far as syringes are concerned.
