What wick and coil setup are you running in your Taifun GT?

Hey all,
Looking to try something new in my Taifun. Just wanted to see what everyone else is doing.
Right now I have a 0.5 ohm parallel and ceramic wick. I switched to readxwick because I got tired of changing cotton constantly. The readyxwick is good stuff. I can dry burn with the wick in place. I have found that after about a week I need to take the wick out and rinse everything and give the coil a good dry burn. The problem is with the readyxwick, when I remove it I can't get it back in. I trim the wick off so it's just barely sticking out of the chamber. When I try to get it back in I can't get both sides pinched down with the cap and one side leaks. I suppose I could try just leaving them longer, but everything I read said to cut them off almost flush.
I was thinking about trying silica. It would have the same problem, but it's cheaper so I wouldn't mind just throwing it out and putting in some new. The readyxwick is about $1 a foot. It'd last forever if I could get it back in there.
Any suggestions?

Rayon, rayon, rayon.

See the thread in 'Rebuidable atomisers' for tips and tricks. This stuff is a miracle and CHEAP.

I run a 1/16" diameter spaced (wraps not touching) coil, #32 Kanthal, 5/6 wrap for 1.5 or so Ohms. I use a little more rayon than I would with cotton as rayon will shrink a little once wet with juice. I add a small tuft over each end of the wick to close off the rest of the wick channels, put the cap on, then trim in a k-fun style point to hang into the tank.

My coils last for weeks, the wicks need changing about once a week.

Rayon is pure cellulose. Lots of people will talk about the possibility of lots of nasty chemicals in it - but it is PURE cellulose. Non-reactive, SAFE.

Graham cellucotton at Sally's Beauty supply is like $12 for 500 feet. That is THOUSANDS of wicks...

Read a few pages of JeremyR's thread in rebuildables - its a whole new world!

I'll check it out. It lasts a little longer than cotton?
You say it's 500 feet...is it like a strand or weave?
One slight issue I was having with cotton was I was inconsistant with amount I was putting in each time. One time I'd get it just right and then I might have some leaking and then some dry hits...due to varying amounts of cotton.
That's one thing that was attractive about the readyxwick...consistent diameter. So I figured out what works and do the same thing everytime.
