More specifically,if nic is either banned,heavily taxed/regulated, what would/could ECF look like? I'm sure ECF would be here in some form but would like hearing from folks what you think the effects could be. after all, if the nic is gone, is it really vaping? thoughts on this would be appreciated.

We need to get this petition against the ban in front of Obama. I think that if anyone could understand our situation it's someone who has struggled with the habit themselves.

ECF won't really change much, even if the worst possible case scenarios become real (which I believe to be unlikely). IIRC, this forum is actually a UK entity, so whatever happens with US legislature won't really affect the forum itself. Even if vaping with nicotine were suddenly banned worldwide, I don't see the community going anywhere, it would perhaps evolve a little to suit the climate is all.

Whether he has successfully quit or not, the guy's trying/tried. We all know how hard it is and just because he's your president, it doesn't make him superhuman. I wonder if they have a smoking ban in the White House though...I have awesome images in my head of him having to go outside for a smoke with a SWAT team around him, thinking 'man i've really gotta quit! These guys work so hard!'. What can I say? I like Obama!x
It's a little mind twisting to think that nicotine might be banned, so to speak, and an intoxicating, inhaled substance becoming more near legal.

ECF won't change despite corruptly-obtained laws anywhere in the world, including in our home areas of N America and Europe. We have some legal presence in the US and UK and if necessary those aspects will be adjusted as required in light of any issues.
Our job is to support vapers and promote vaping. Even if they made vaping illegal in every possible aspect we would find a way around that. It might be OK for totalitarian states to kill millions of their citizens but we don't think that is a realistic attitude in the modern world.

Members of Congress are Vaping and the President has an ecig, too. I don't see the wisdom in banning a relatively safe alternative to a deadly tobacco product unless the tobacco product is banned first. I do see the lack of heavy taxation being a key factor. Cigarettes will survive only because they represent a $206B payment to the government over the first 25 years (beginning in 1998). They need tobacco money. There is no ecig money at stake if they ban our PV's..

Right now, we are a safer alternative to something that they make big money on and a threat to the tobacco industry. It's a slippery slope for vapers when BT money has leverage.

They are just not using bullets & swords any longer. They have 'legal' ways of doing it now.
Roly speaks the truth here. Regardless of regulations there are enough of us that we just won't fade away into obscurity.
Yes and no... we will still be required to comply with the law, but as a forum they cannot stop us from talking.
I'd like to think that we are that already, in addition to being a world class resource for starting out and carrying on through the rough patches.
Don't count out the financial aspect. Taxation makes much more sense in these trying economic times. Plus whether you like them or not, BLU and BT now have a say in the issue. Whether this is good or bad for the rest of the industry only time will tell.
