So I'm happily vaping along with 1.5 to 2 ohm builds on an eVic at 8W. But with all the talk about mech mods, I decided to check them out. There's a nice modding community here in the Philippines and I'm starting to like how our local mods look. The build quality on some of them is really great, and I'm loving their designs.

What is it there to gain for me to go with a mech?

I like gadgets, and I appreciate nicely designed and engineered products. But if I'm not interested in blowing billows of vapor on sub-ohm builds, is there something for me to gain from a quality mech? Are they worth spending on in my case?

I'd love to hear the pros of getting one. I'm itching to buy one, but I wanted to hear opinions of people more experienced than me first. :D

Thanks!

Seems you picked out two major reason why a lot of people go with mech mod.

Just to add, mechanical mod usually have less issues than VV. I had VV mod for 3 month and it broke(Zmax Mini).

Also, there is community who collect high end mech mods. High end one are freaking great looking device. Such as Caravella, Chi you, Origin, Titan and etc.........

I personally like mechanical mod since it's easy to deal with. Bad is that you end up making/testing a lot of coil to figure out what is best taste/flavor/TH for you. Currently I am using RDA and also have Genesis RBA in order.

Usually, people with mechanical mod also has VV mods.

I was VV about two weeks ago and switch to mech. I love it. My next step is DYI e-juice. Been doing a lot of research on this.

JMHO..

Get a good solid Mech w/ good qualty 18650's

Get a good RDA or RBA w/ some 28 gauge Kanthal and start wrapping wicks till you find what you like. 28 gauge is good for .9-1.2 ohm single coils unless you go micro wrap and .4-.7 dual coils.

I love to mess w/ stuff so the main thing I love is just the trial and error and tinkering till I just get that perfect coil/vape setup.

After a bit you will be able to just know how a wrap is going to turn out and what to expect ohm wise prior to even testing it.

here's what you gain, super powers.

but really: no electronic circuitry or board to mess with or damage/break, consistent raw power from the battery, always "off" until you fire the switch "on", and being able to disassemble everything for cleaning.

get yourself a good rebuildable atomizer and you're set! you dont have to blow clouds. stepping into the mechanical/rebuildables allows you to control your vape experience. you can build for flavor, clouds, throat hit, or all of it.

a good mechanical will last a long time so its a worthwhile purchase and you'll be using it every day.
