i started off with a juice i actually enjoyed at 18 mg nicotine. Would definitely help if you actually enjoyed your juice. I smoked Marlboro Reds before.
As for devices, I started out with an ego-c twist with a basic Ce4 clearomizer. It definitely did the job, After a couple weeks the wick inside started to burn out, so i upgraded to a Protank.
Kept buying 5 pack of replacement wicks for it once i needed changing until i found myself interested in the more advanced devices.

In my opinion find something that's definitely in your price range that's "plug and play." easy to use, not too much going on, and will help you cut down on cigarettes.

Thank you so much for the advice. Okay. I already started with the Joyetech eVic Mod Kit. I think it is performing stellar for me and is very convenient to charge. But I don't like its casing material and the sleeping feature. Thanks again.

Hello, everyone. I'm new to this forum and I've been smoking for several years. Recently, I started to try the e cigarette, but have no idea how to choose. Can you give some advice? What do you think is the most important thing when choosing an e cigarette? The appearance? Or the quality of atomizers? Thanks in advance.

Atomizer is most important part of ecig imho, followed by battery and juice. You wont go wrong with kayfun 3.1 (clone). Its perfect compared to the rest of available stuff.

I like nemesis 18350+kick mode, because it is small and portable. I use it everyday, everywhere.

Performance is the most important thing to me. You need a good battery, good toppers and good juice. If you like your evic, get some quality heads--I like Kanger BCC line: T3S, eVod, Protanks 2 (mini or regular) are all nice for starters.

If you don't like your eVic, or want a backup battery, consider an itaste MVP 2. It's box shaped, but if you don't mind the shape, that is probably the best and the easiest battery to use.

Good luck!

Performance is definately top of the list here, doesn't matter if it doesn't look pretty it's all about whether it can satisfy your need for nicotine, throat hit and flavour.

Don't skimp on the juice if you're new to vaping, don't be tempted by cheap crappy liquids, always ask for an exact nicotine strength (18MG is usually good for a 20 a day smoker to give you an idea of scale) and always try before you buy! nothing worse than being saddled with 10/30/50ml of liquid that tastes like poop chute :(
