I just stepped down to 6 mg in standard tanks (Nautilus, AeroTank) and 3 mg in sub-ohm tanks. Should my next one be zero in all tanks, or should I do 3 mg in standard and 0 mg in sub-ohm? When I do reach zero in all tanks, how long will it take for me to get used to it?

I started vaping in April using 24 mg in both types of tanks and stepped down 6 mg each segment, after smoking two packs a day for 18 years. Step-dowm levels have been: 24/24, 18/24, 12/18, 6/12, and now 3/6. Lower numbers in sub-ohm and higher in standard.

When I went from 18 down to 12 I was making juice for a friend. I debated long and hard if I should tell him or not and in the end decide to not tell him. During the change I suffered horribly. He didn't seem to. After awhile I got used to it and told him. He was never even aware something was different. I think it may all be in my head.

When I got better equipment I had to drop to 6. This was easy and painless. I love the subohm vaping and stay with it easy. Old style I hated and had to remind myself to do it before the cravings started. While I dropped my nic level by half my daily intake only dropped slightly due to enjoying it more.

So thats kinda where I am. I got all the demons at bay. But I am still an addict make no mistake about it. I want that monkey off my back for ever. I was clean once in my early 40's off alcohol, nic and caffeine. It felt wonderful. Then the nic came back and I felt like crap so back on the coffee, never drank again. So the desire to not be an addict is tempered by past failures.

I like vaping 0 nic as part of my routine so its not a problem as long as I have a nic tank on hand. For the time being my nic levels stay constant.

One great thing about subohming is the flavor is so much more intense cutting flavoring was easy as pie. High nic juice requires a TON of flavoring to hide the nic taste. My 6mg stuff tastes better then the same thing at 12 with less then half the flovoring. I see some DIY high nic with horrifying amounts of flavoring. I put some 6mg in a TFV4 the other day and it was a low flavoring ADV I'd been using forever and the flavor about killed me in that tank. The 1% menthol was like Vicks.

I'm just the opposite, I love the pepper taste that nic adds. I also put white pepper on melons. :)

I vape 16mg 70/30 with 1% honeydew melon about three puffs at 8W every 4-5 hours during the day if I feel like it and a bit more at night if I'm watching a movie. Yummy.

I made some 6mg 30/70 to run in my STM and it had no bite at all. Probably because of the high VG content.

When I know I'm gonna be vaping a crazy amount, like when my sons are over, I switch to pure VG with just a hint of flavor.

ADV is 80/20 VG/PG and its heaven. At work I use a 70/30 VG/PG cause of wicking issues in the cold. Same juice but I can tell the PG nastiness.

I do have distilled water on hand and next cook I'm gonna try VG and water to get rid of PG completely.

I'm long since over cigs. No desire whatsoever. Any vape that even remotely reminds me of a cigs goes down the drain.

Vaping helps with the other parts of the addiction though. And nic. I would really really like to get off nic.

I smoked for 50 years. Was at 2+ packs a day when I quit almost 2 years ago. Started at 18mg and am now down to 3mg. I chain vape 10-15ml a day and have never noticed any difference when I cut down on the nic. I make my own and tend to drop it by about 1mg every second or third time I make a new batch. I believe that half of the addition to vaping or smoking is in the act of doing it more so than the nicotine. Am going to try to work my way down to zero by the end of the year.

I haven't started vaping yet, still smoke cigarettes, and I also use dry snuff as a way to get a quick fix when I need it. Really looking forward to vaping for the first time & trying new flavors it's going to be interesting for sure. Usually I smoke Marl Menthols or Salems, not sure how much nic is in those brands, but I'm sure it's a lot. I know there are different amounts for nic for the juice, I plan on tapering down & if I find a juice I like, keep it at a reasonable dose to keep me happy. I could not imagine not smoking I enjoy it, just not the smell & the annoyance of having to be so restricted doing it. Exactly what many say, it's the act of smoking that's a lot of the addiction, that's why when I tried to quit once, it was a total failure. You feel like you go crazy without having it in your hand or mouth, eventually I'd like to try to go down to 0mg when I start vaping, just because the act itself is very stress relieving.

I'm at 0 nic after starting at 12. Previously pack a day + for 20 years. When I made the leap to 0, I kept an old T3 tank on hand, loaded with a 12mg tobacco flavor. Eventually, I didn't want to vape that anymore. What really helped was getting bigger and better gear to mask the lack of throat hit with more flavor, bigger clouds, and a hotter vape.

I started at 12 went to 18 then down to 6 and 3. Then I went with 0. I went back to 12 and unflavored for 2 years. I am now at 9 with flavorings. I finally just gave up and vape whatever nic content I mix.my flavoring are a little of this and a little of that. A 30 ml batch is never the same.

Variety is the spice of life. One gains nothing from not trying

Different for everyone. I pretty much have moved to 0% nic. I just have a few bottles of 3mg left now that i will finish up but I diluted those as well.

I lowered my nic VERY slowly, like over a period of 3 years. I personally notice no difference at all between 3mg and 0mg now.......just spent last couple days using only 0%.

There is a little bit of throat hit missing a/out nicotine, which always tasted a bit "burny" and peppery to me (and something i never liked so I switched to DIYing a lot using VT nic which is very mild). And I can fix up a better throat hit since i like minty vapes, or add a little PG to my mostly VG ejuice.

Anyway, only way you will know with your body is to.........try it. :)

I think I'm one of the few who are keeping their nicotine the same (16mg/mL) and dropping the amount of flavoring.

I am currently at 1% flavoring, soon to be at 0%!!! Woo Hoo!!!

:)
If one is concerned about "potential" health threats from vaping...
This is the proper course of action...

Nicotine is NOT a health threat.

In fact, it has many health benefits...

I believe that half of the addition to vaping or smoking is in the act of doing it more so than the nicotine.
The more people in the world that understand this...
The easier our path becomes.

EDIT: Not saying that there aren't people who really ARE addicted to nicotine
EDIT: Assuming, of course, that they really are as opposed to just thinking they really are

it's the act of smoking that's a lot of the addiction, that's why when I tried to quit once, it was a total failure. Again I have to say, many people who think they NEED nicotine may very well not.
But it is also worth saying that there are very valid reasons for WANTING nicotine even if it's not needed.

And it's also worth saying that many people may very well NEED nicotine.
There are valid reasons, as I posted in a link in one of the posts above this one.
