What wire is the best for vaping?

I have been using 28gauge kanthal pretty much exclusively, I ordered some vapor grudge wire the celtic wir the clapton coil and I believe the tiger wire. The reason I ask this is g plat better than kanthal or should I just stick with regular kanthal. This seems to be something most people don't know and something I been wondering for awhile now. I heard of nichrome too, but it doesn't sound something that's too interesting IMO. Any opinions greatly help thanks!

I've twisted my 28 together a couple times before and it is usually really good that way too, I think I'm going to do a parallel build in my big block next, I was just wondering if g plat is better than kanthal or nichrome, Then there's a bunch of companies making these kickass wires and there's so many it's hard to know which ones best you know.

There are some good reviews on G plat out there. If you haven't already done so i would suggest RIP TRIPPERS. It seems to me that G plat is much easier to build with because it isn't as springy as Kanthal, but i can only base this of what i have read as i haven't tried it myself. Nichrome wire, Kanthal and G plat are all acceptable to use and as with everything there is really no best, but more like which one suits your preferred style of vaping IMO. There is one that has stood out to me which is 22GA flat kanthal. It's just regular 22GA Kanthal that has been flattened out so it has the same resistance as the round but twice the coverage. Not sure if this helped at all but vape ON!

I been thinking of trying a lower gauge wire I'm looking to be super sub ohming thats why I'm wondering I got the big block 454 atty and I really wanna do some crazy builds in this thing, the flattened wire I really have wanted to try as I here the flavor is really crisp that way. I have some wire coming from vapergrudge as well, kinda pumped to use some of this stuff, the only coil I can't seem to build myself is the clapton coil. I don't know why but everytime it just destroys my fingers and I get ...... off trying to make it haha. I'm going to try a lower gauge and probably try g plat but that stuff is pretty pricey for the amount you get.

Use those thin and curly wires, they are always best.

On topic though, I use a variety of 22, 24, 26 and 28 gauge wire depending on what I want to build. There is no " best " to be honest. It's what you like to build, and are comfortable working with. I get all my Kanthal from TEMCo.

I was actually wondering if stainless steel would work because I know tons of places that sell it around here, some of the gauges of that they have are 18 which is like absolutely ridiculous probs why too big lol. I use 28 gauge primarily because I'm on a 30 watt regulated mod that goes down to .5 ohms but I have a mech mod that should be here tomorrow morning and I'm looking to do some really crazy builds with my 454 clt and magma.

Hey, while we've got this thread goin, does anyone know anything about the safety of vaping with different wires?

Kanthal : FeCrAl (iron-chromium-aluminium)
Nichrome: (NiCr) (nickle-chromium)
G-Plat : who knows?

I've always assumed they were safe, since I oxidize em good via dry burning before I vape with em....I'm sure inhaling oxidized aluminum from kanthal ain't good

G Plat has lower resistance than a1 kanthal so you'd need to do more wraps and or wrap on a larger diameter to equal the same resistance, it also heats up quicker and lessens battery life, and doesn't have the same good flavor you would get with kanthal. Also if you don't know how to pulse it correctly it will melt, same as if you dry burn it or get a bad dry hit it can or will melt and you'd have to rebuild the coils again. G Plat is more for people who are cloud chasing not your average vapor especially not for flavor chasers.

It depends.. I've only used kanthal..I may try nichrome and the other options, but I will never pay more for resistance wire than however much it is on lightning vapes.

I typically stick with 26&28awg..I only use mechs and I just got an IPV2..I'm always at or above 30 Watts, so I can still use the larger/lower gauges, but with higher resistances. I have a 1ohm 26awg dual coil in my plume veil that is rocking at 30-50 Watts..too bad I can't get that with a mech - same build.

When I was using my mvp and vape pro-I would try to stick with 30awg, but I would use 28awg also...32awg sucked for me... even with a MVP.

Yeah I think I'm going to grab up some 26 gauge next I been using 28 gauge primarily but I am always right around .8 and or .7 dual coil builds sometimes I have single coils down to this res when I'm using twisted kanthal. That's like my sweet spot with the 28 gauge I can't figure out why lol but on a variable voltage device it just seems to work the best as .5 just doesn't seem to give off as good of flavor or heat with my mod. Thanks guys, I am thinking about getting to cloud chasing as well, but I really dont know yet as I work all the time and am starting school soon it sucks vaping has turned into a big hobby for me, even with only being into it for 2 months. My first micro coil looked a lot better than I thought it would lol, I've seen others first builds and I am doing good with my wraps and such. I am also extremely good with my hands anything that I need to fix or build I can pretty much find a way to do it. My new wires are coming in today from vaporgrudge I;m pretty pumped to try these babies out but you only get six pieces which is kinda bummer, but you can make kanthal last a really long time as long as you take care of it.

I;m really pumped for the beacon mech mod to come in though maybe it's not the best mech mod, but it's going to be my first mech mod and I've read and seen nothing but absolutely great things about it. Plus I'd rather not buy any clones as I'm not a big fan of the whole companies stealing others design and such. I know this I'm so tired of waiting and I only ordered it 5 days ago with the 4 day shipping really hoping it comes today with all these new wires to test out it would be perfect lol. The only wire I ordered that wasn't more geared at the sub ohm level was the clapton wire and I'm going to try that coil in the magma just because it seems like a good fit IMO. Otherwise it's pretty much going to be me and the big block building away. The one guy that built the octa coil, is what I want to do someday, the ramp up time on them has to be quite awhile though.
