Op, don't be afraid of the gennies. IMO, they are the most amazing vape out there, when set up right. I also think it's worth any amount of time spent until you finally "get it". Just make sure you have something like a kayfun, too. Nic fits and setting up gennies don't go together well. Plus no leaking to worry about when out and about. I'd suggest getting a little dripper too. Some people love em and they can be very useful at times.

After just rebuilding my first RDA, the Scar, and my first RTA, a genuine kayfun Lite, I would strongly suggest th Kayfun (or good clone). It was worlds easier to work with and hits like a train. I couldn't be more pleased.

That said I read this thread with interest as I would like to try an RBA and was looking at the RSST. What wick would be suggested for this? If SS mesh, is 400 recommended? Thanks!

28g 2/3 3/32" SS rope/500 SS mesh .9Ω

I like this - mostly. But why not drop the b from rba for Rebuildable Atomizer. Then you could use rba for Rebuildable Bottomcoil Atomizer. RGA for Rebuildable Genesis Atomizer. Yes, I know I made a post about this recently and took a little heat for it, and deleted the post, but then I was making a statement. Now this is more like a suggestion? Umm no, not really, lol, you wanna talk about confusion, changing the meaning of something "established" would only make it worse.

Hence why i wanted to leave RBA as ReBuildable Atomizer... it is generally accepted as that, changing that would cause chaos... no idea if RGA is already being used as something else, if not I could see the uses, but at the same time Genesis/gennies should be fine, because to my knowledge there is no Genesis that is not rebuildable or designed as such (lets face it the protank is rebuildable but not considered rebuildable... so that is what i am talking about) RBCA rebuildable bottom coil atomizer ??? frankly whatever we land on for names for these doesnt bother me, telling someone that a rda isnt a rba does bother me...

:offtopic:

-side rant- mods i mean no offense on this, but just like someone posting something in the general discussion and it being moved bothers me, or deleting a double post in different areas...

this bothers me because while there is more information in the sub threads, and people in them know what they are talking about, there is more activity in the general thread and while the information may not be as much, or the topic may get buried quickly... faster responses are more likely... there could be better results... i wouldnt mind having a topic in both, but i feel we should be able to post things in the general that apply to sub sections...

again i mean no offense just my opinion...

rant over...

I am by no means an expert, nor do I have any real knowledge of rebuilding, but I have spent a ton of time reading about the different devices and methods involved in rebuilds. In my reading I have decided that a Kayfun/Russian design is best for me. While I understand that rebuilding a dripper is likely a better platform to learn on, The Kayfun/Russian just suits the way I choose to vape most of the time better. I vape at work, and my work doesn't afford me the ability to take the time to stop and drip. I need a tank fed device that I can quickly hit and set back down. The tank just makes more sense, and in my research I have seen too many issues with Genesis set ups. Quite frankly my experience is non-existent, and my patience may wear thin. I figure the relative simplicity of a Kayfun build will allow me to get a better grasp of how to deal with any issues that may arise when I do decide to snag a Genesis style atty.

Another thing that I had to consider is wicking. I just don't see myself gaining a whole lot of experience with wicking issues on a dripper. You simply drip, then hit. With the Kayfun style I will gain experience with wicking; from material, to design and implementation. With a top feeder I should have less issues with wicking, even if my design is not perfect. With a genesis there is far less room for error. But I do have the ability to learn, and still vape with a less than perfect top fed atty.

I ordered both a genuine Kayfun Lite Plus and a genuine Russian 91% to figure out what will work best for me. I will also likely try a couple clones, just to see what, if any, real differences there are between tank fed clones and the real McCoy. This might help me decide if it is worth spending big bucks on a real Kracken or Taifun (which are both more costly than a real Russian/Kayfun) or just jumping on the clone bandwagon.

But FWIW, I am in the middle of figuring out what dripper I am interested in for my evenings at home. I am really leaning towards a Trident, but more research is a must for me before I spend $150 on a device I will likely only use for a few hours a week. However, if I were working in a situation that I could drip, I would likely be starting with a solid dripper, like a Trident.

After reading a couple of your posts about RGA I wondered if you didnt speak english as native language.

Looked over at location:
Location
JBLM

Don't know what exactly that means but sounds like that is the explanation.
Bottom is a word in english with a meaning.
Top is a word in english with a meaning opposite to bottom.

Genesis is a name.

Figure maybe if I just stop right there it might avoid confusion.

If you would be so kind I would greatly appreciate quotes of my posts that lead you to believe English is not my native language. Not sure where I implied that bottom didn't have a meaning or where i implied the meaning of top was not opposite to the meaning of bottom. As it has already been said JBLM is Joint Base Lewis McChord. I am asking you to quote for me because I am extremely offended by what you had to say and I would be thrilled to see what supporting quotes you have to your extremely disrespectful post. I will admit sometimes I may be rather tired when I post and may be hard to understand, or may end up distracted by my children when posting and may not make perfect sense, but I would love to see where I implied bottom has no meaning and top does not mean something else entirely.

If we were to allow this and everyone took the same route that you'd like to take, ECF would be an absolute nightmare. You wouldn't be able to find anything. Or are you thinking you're the only one who'd do this?

As you are on JBLM, I'm sure you can appreciate why specific rules and regulations are in place. The same applies to ECF. There's a reason why there are specific forums for specific topics. Put it in the appropriate forum, not the one you think would get the most views.

Let's not go there, please.

Hi everyone,

Ive been using clearo's for a few months, and may want to dabble into rebuildable systems. Im using a provari now with protank 3s. What are the options for a good rebuildable, pros/cons, your opinions, etc?

Im looking for something durable, 2-3ml capacity (glass), relatively low-fuss.

Thanks in advance!

Hopefully OP got some answers to his question.

Chill and have a vape !
