Back in 2009 i got my first ecig. It was a three piece and was made by a company called AirE8. It was wholly unsatisfying because the atomizer seemed to only just barely reach the foil in a cartrige, sometimes not even enough to puncture it. I got little to no vapor out of it, and the guy who sold it to me said that it was supposed to be that way so the atomizer doesnt get damaged and I dont.OD on nicotine. Well, it never satisfied me, and I got sick of it pretty fast and went back to analogs.
Now, recently, I found blu ecigs at my local gas station. The name rang a bell, because I saw their advertisements and they looked really good so i decided to give them a try. When I opened the package, I noticed something odd; there was no atomizer piece. I looked at the Box of cartriges that came with it and saw the Word cartomizer. I quickly deduced what that was, and figured it was to solve the problem of the atomizer not reaching the foil (because aire8 gave me the impression that all ecigs Did that). it works very well for me, I get alot of vapor, and I even developed a strong distaste for analogs because I like the blu flavors so much,.but I had to get it replaced at the gas station twice because the batteries were defective, and even now that I finally have a good kit, When I buy cartomizers, I seem to always have to throw at least one full and unused one away from every pack because it's leaking. I Did some research and found that blu has a reputation for defective products.
I Also found that a lot of brands still have three piece models. I would like to get a better ecig. The two piece is my comfort zone, because of what happened with AirE8, and I like the idea of not having to be careful of the atomizer. (The aire8 guy Said you couldnt even touch it or it could break, but he Said alot of things, so i dont know what to believe.) I also like to be able to just throw a cartomizer on and go, no dripping or juice making necessary, but i know Im going to get curious one day and try to make my own juice. but I think I may need a three piece model for that. Is this true?
A few more questions i have is how far would a good atomizer puncture through the foil, and how durable or fragile is it really? Does it produce as much vapor as my two piece blu does? Is it alot of work to maintain an atomizer? How Long does a good atomizer last? And last but not least, which design is all around better, the two piece or the three piece?
OR, is there a good model that would let me do both two and three piece interchangably?
Sorry if I could have just googled this all, but i dont want to run the risk of being blundered by an ecig gypsy again.
