Hey guys,

Right now I'm using a KR808 from myvaporstore. it came with 11MG marlboro catomizers, But i've been refilling them using the condom method with 16MG kamel e-juice.

I've been vaping for 4 days now, and analog free for a little over 24 hours.

The reason i'm posting here, is that I have developed a rash on my cheeks, directly underneath my eyes, but not covering my face. It feels like I have gotten sunburned, but I don't think that is possible.

This is the slightly awkward/embarrassing part, since I've started vaping and smoking alot less, I have been ...... like crazy. I've drunken alot more water. but it doesn't add up with how much water i've been drinking!
Just to note, I've been staying hydrated, I've been drinking more water then I ever have in my life.

Does anyone know whats going on? am i getting "the quit zits?" or am I allergic to PG?

I did some research last night, I'm allergic to certain types of sunblocks, the worst being the generic brand called "tropical hawiian" last night, i found the ingredient list, and guess what it contains, PG.
Also last night, I took some of the juice, and i smeared it on my inner arm, Today I woke up with no skin irritation or anything. Is it possible that I am allergic to just the vapor?

Hi DJ!

While uncommon, PG allergies do exist. I would buy some 100% VG juice immediately and try that. If the rash goes away you know the answer. I'm not saying it is impossible -- but I've never met someone allergic to both PG and VG :)

I've seen studies that show a significant majority of the PG (or VG) is absorbed in your mouth long before it can hit the lungs -- so it would make sense to me that it would present itself on your cheeks (but I am not an MD).

And, don't worry about the # of bathroom trips for the moment. It is perfectly normal when you drastically increase you water intake that very thing happens. I notice as summer comes along and I start pounding water during the day (I work in an un-air-conditioned warehouse) it happens for about two weeks until my body stabilizes. Most people are actually dehydrated long before vaping with caffeine from coffee, colas, teas etc... so that's another good thing you are doing for your body.

Oh - and don't rub juice on your skin anymore... nicotine DOES absorb through the skin.

thanks for the reply. good stuff..

I think ill (attempt) not to vape and not to smoke today, to see if the rash goes away.

It is possible that I did get sunburned though, I was driving for 1 hour and 30 minutes on friday. But its weird that it only started bothering me last night. I have read things that say that some people get rashes when they burn.

That's smart thinking DJ. I do find it ironic that we ex-smokers knew all the dangers of cigarettes and ignored them all... but when vaping suddenly we are compulsive about our health... "I have toenail fungus -- it must be vaping!" :)

Your sinuses are up there by your eyes so who knows?

Just be careful not to make an incorrect correlation. If it was something besides vaping PG -- and you stop vaping now... it may clear up and still have had nothing to do with vaping LOL!

I'm not a scientist so any smart ECF members out there that can set DJ on the right experimental method here please step in!
