What's going on with Kanger coils lately?

Maybe it's just me...but it seems like all my juices are having a strange taste after a few hits...a plastic-y taste. This is a new development. Doesn't matter what juice it is or where it comes from (multiple vendors). I wonder if it's just a strange batch of coils I've been using.

And before everyone suggests that I build my own because it's sooo easy, I've already attempted doing this multiple times and failed miserably. Rebuilding is not for me. Sadly. :(

Anyone else experiencing this?

BTW...I've been vaping exclusively for 8 months (no cigs!) and use Vision Spinners as well as an MVP II. Happening on ProTanks and ProTank Minis.

Thanks!

I've also noticed a major lack of quality control with Kanger heads lately. They're just pumping out really bad coils. Usually it happens right around Chinese New Year, but the quality should be back to normal now, and they're still putting out sub-par coils.

Are you also getting the funny taste I was talking about? What the heck would cause that?

Agreed. Quality control has been horrible lately. Wish there was an American made coil packs. I would definitely pay more for them.

Are you also getting the weird taste I was talking about? I just want to make sure that it's not just me and something crazy with my taste buds. I figure after 8 months mine should have already been normal for a while and hopefully this is just a quality control issue.

Some coils are horrible tasting. I've had a few that don't even fire at all. I've had coils that go bad in just two days.

I've been steering newer users seeking advice away from the Kanger T3S's. The Evods seem OK, but those are still hit or miss.

I have found that the Aspire ET-S series of clearomizers work and taste much better than my Kanger devices do. I actually dropped the money on a Kanger Areo Tank last month and have never even run a full tank of juice through it because it works like cr*p...

I have 2 Aspire ET-S tanks that work great every time and the coils are consistently the same. You'll like the flavor and vapor they provide...

Just my opinion...

I've loathed clearomizers from the very beginning almost two years ago. I thought the iClear series was pretty good, but lost faith in them completely. I would love to shoot all Kanger T3S's with a gun. And I never, ever thought I would say this, but for the first time a clearomizer line has impressed me, and those are the Aspires. I've been using a few every day for the past foUr weeks and I've yet to get a single burnt hit. And this is coming from me, someone who absolutely, without a doubt, cannot stand clearomizers. Granted, I don't push the voltage that they say they can handle (I still keep it at 8 watts/4 volts), but they've been pretty darn awesome. Closest I've come to a carto tank with it not being a carto tank.

For the rebuilding issue, get a jewelers lighted magnifier. Got mine for 8 bucks. I was able to rebuild the Kangers without it, but it makes it WAY easier. 1/16 drill bit, and 28 or 30ga kanthal. Doing it as a micro coil makes it super simple. You're literally just putting the drill bit into the recess, with the coil centered.. Putting the head back together, putting some tension on the leads, snipping them, and threading the bit out. Less is more on the cotton.

Seriously, once you use a micro/cotton coil in a Kanger tank, you'll really wonder what the heck Kanger is doing. Not even in the same ballpark.

Sorry it took so long for me to reply.

I loathed MT3's from the get go. The replacement heads are horribly shoddy, and out of anything clearo that used silica, the MT3's muted EVERYTYHING, and gave it an "off" taste.

I steer people away from the Kanger MT3's these days. Other than their sub-par coils, they leak like crazy. I've talked to countless vapers who say the Kanger coils last about 3 days. I could live my entire life, never see a Kanger T3S and the words "It's leaking" again and be forever happy. "This thing leaks" is the most frustrating thing I have to deal with on a daily basis. 99.99% of the time, it is user error, but I'm not allowed to say that.

My schpiel goes like this when it comes to a Kanger T3S:

"Never ever let it get low. When it's half empty, fill it right back up again."
"Never ever crank the atomizer base on too tightly, and never crank the tank itself down hard onto your battery. Finger-tight is all anything ever needs to be."
"Draw slow and gentle. Let the atomizer do the work for you. Don't puff like a real cig or draw super hard because you're angry. Modify your draw technique. Long and slow, take your time, pull it into your mouth, and then inhale. The atomizer needs a half-second to get hot to vaporize your juice."
"When you fill the tank up with liquid, it creates pressure in the tank. As you use it and the liquid level drops, the pressure changes inside of the tank. If you let it get too low, it WILL leak, gurgle, and spit liquid back into your mouth. Keep it full!"
"Inspect the o-rings around your atomizer base. If they are ripped/torn/compromised, these will leak."
"Don't leave the device in your car during the summer or winter months.. Heat makes liquid more 'watery' and it can flood your tank. Cold can make your liquid more viscous and syrupy, and cause burnt or dry hits.

Rarely does anyone ever listen to or follow my advice.

If a Kanger T3S was a living person I would throat-punch him. I HATE those things with a passion that burns like a million fiery suns.
