20 years ago, younger, fitter, stronger...I saw some neighbours struggling to carry a wooden structure from one yard to another. Ran over to give a hand and ended up shouldering most of the load. Thereafter if anything heavy needed moving one of these guys would point at me and say "just get Towmotor to do it". Nowadays I need a towmotor to get my ... off the couch.

I lived in Santa Fe and fell in love with a painting by the artist Lynn Cox called Chili Cat! Later in life I got a real cat and named her Chili Cat! Added to that, I was born in 1957! Put it all together and I am 57chilicat! 249l.jpg

I have 2 cats, and I am their momma. Simple as that. What really shocked me was that the name was available. I love names like this and I think they're cool, yes pet lovers are cool, but they are always taken. I usually do some variation on my name, or I try and get creative depending on the forum and my mood. This time it was the first name I tried, and presto! I love some of the stories about the names and this thread is great.

Nothing fancy with mine, p is for Paul, my first name and Wheeler, my last. Didn't try for incognito here! :2cool: Most of you don't know me, I haven't been that active here, mostly been on the Reo forum, but I've been using NT for awhile and we've been getting alot of NT forum folks over there, so I thought I'd start back up here again.

Ummm... yeah. I went to UF for undergrad and now bleed Orange and Blue. Some people call me Gator so I'm not sure why I added the "s" at the end. Maybe it was taken?

Always have been a Gators fan! I did my undergrad down the road from there at UCF, but even though I'm a Knight, I was always a Gator at heart :)

Mine, Lurch, was a quick pick of a name to register so I could ask a question. Didn't expect to stick around, but got into the site and have enjoyed it. I am a local history bluff and am pulling together information about the community I live. On my other computer I had a photo of the lifeguards from the 1950's that served our city. One of them was Ted Cassidy, who played Lurch on the Adams Family TV show. I looked up, saw him and used the name.

LOL...exactly this. All my usual plays on emily (Typed capital e's aren't pretty) were taken, and I wasn't feeling particularly creative or willing to use my last name.
Side note, I don't actually live in Portland. But most people have no idea where Lake Oswego is, so unless you're from Portland metro, I claim Portland as home.

As beautiful a city as Portland is, Lake Oswego is stunning. I had a aunt that lived there. My parents would load us up in the car and head down there from Seattle a quite often when we were just wee'ins. Fond memories from there for sure! You are a lucky girl to call such a pictuesque place home.

Not boring at all Malinda. Go nanny Go! :)
Too funny! Next time I sign up at a new place, I am using a fake pic of a random 25 year old hottie with lots of cleavage and making up a sleazy screen name!

That will be WAAAY more fun and won't the guys just fall all over themselves trying to help me out with my problems??

My screen name is boring, too! I am "Nanny" to my two identical twin grand daughters - so "Nanny22". I should have thought the name out more before signing up, I guess~

Nanny22 is who you are and something to be proud of!!!

I'm looking forward (sometime in not so soon future I hope as my 2 daughters bf's are not keepers imo, I know, I know, I'll love them no matter what) to being Grandpa or pop-pop or whatever!

Yep, Gopher, being a grandparent is INFINITELY more fun than being a parent EVER was! And when those squeaky little voices call your name, whatever they decide that name will be, it will be the sweetest thing you have ever heard! My husband is "Grampy" but at first, they called him "PEE-PEE"!!! HAHAHAHA - we got such a kick out of that! Poor hubs, he was "PEE-PEE" for a good six months.

So agree! Better than parenting any day. I had cute names picked out when I became a grandparent at 43 years old but the kids chose their own. I'm Ennie (pronounced EE-Nee) to them, don't ask me why. As for my screen name, the MS is the state I currently live in and Cruzer because we tend to jump on a cruise ship whenever possible.

It really is. live in downtown/old town LO, just a few blocks off the Willamette and the lake, and have a state park (Tryon Creek) right behind me. No view of Mt Hood though, there's a pesky giant pine in the way. It's Amazing to find such a small town and close to nature feel, in the middle of a sprawling metropolitan area. I

LMAO I had a similar story because I have the same name as my dad. People would call me little Russell but by the time I was 13 I was already bigger than my dad. Then it was shortened to just "R3," as I'm the third. Sadly, the confusion was never completely resolved and I get messages sometimes on Facebook from my dad's friends. Sorry to hijack the thread, but do you know of Okoboji, Iowa?

I grew up in a small town not far from Okoboji - Eagle Grove is the name. So, yes, absolutely.
