The first show I played with my band (back in '02) was at a festival in Raleigh, NC. Moments before we were set to start playing, my guitar amp decided to self-destruct, and I wound up having to borrow someone else's in order to play the show. Fast-forward to almost a year later - we're booked to play the same festival. The stage manager for the festival sent out an email to all the bands with general information about the event and some recommendations. Specifically, he asked everyone to behave themselves ("no ...... off the hotel balcony this year guys") and to make sure all our gear was in good working order because "every year, some hambone's amp breaks right before they go onstage." Of course, at the next practice after that email all the guys in the band started calling me Hambone, and that's been my name ever since 
Of course someone already had the name Hambone on here (as is often the case), so when that name isn't available, I tack on a 68 to the end, because, well, they can do something for taking my name and I'll owe them one
