Ok, year two of vaping, and, as it turns out, the year of the RBA for me. Been vaping the Kayfun 3.1 this entire new year, exclusively, and now it has happened. I CAN now taste the filler material in my carto [tanks]. Thanks RBA Gods. I was pretty happy with my nice carto tank collection, now ruined by the vastly superior vape of a kayfun with cotton and Rip Tripper micro coils. Took a couple of weeks to get my micro coils down (enough to show them, lol), and what a vape! So much better that the cartos. Coils last a long time (I was changing cartos about every one or two days), and a cotton change takes about as long as preparing a carto did, so check to the convenience factor that I was dreading with RBA's. Easy Peazy.
So, lately I've been noticing some very positive gear changes hitting the market. The 26650 looks great. I want one with the new DNA 30. I would buy that setup in a second. Really, any tube APV with DNA 30 is a contender for my vape dollars. Haven't used clearos in a good long while, but these new ones with air flow/juice control look very promising. The Nautilus looks quite good, and Rip's new video on recoiling them, even better.
The RBA's are so good that the missus now wants one, so I ordered her an HCigar Kayfun 3.1 clone from Vivid Smoke. Heard good things about this clone. Also, just got my Origen Dripper recently, and what can I say, what a vape! Not good as an all day device (I need a tank), but as a change of pace change of juice, pretty darn happy. Why every device doesn't have air flow control is beyond me. I need air flow control now in everything I vape. Every clone maker, original innovator, etc. needs to add this feature to our gear, imho. Sure, I can make holes bigger and have all the drills to do this, but what about when I want a tighter draw, like when I'm not quite wicking enough to keep up with my chain vaping?
You know, without your assistance with these better devices and positive feedback, together with some good YouTube videos, there's no way I could have ended up here at my present VapeQuest. Thank you. I was a pretty consistent 7 watt vaper with my carto tanks, and fairly happy. Cranking the watts to about 10 now, with these nice 28 gauge kanthal/cotton builds, though, just provided a better flavor, better vapor, better throat hit for me. As such, I just about have to use only 6 mg/ml juice now. When I feel like I'm not quite getting enough nic, I'll throw some 12 or even 18 in the tank and vape that, then back to the 6. Vaping is pretty great these days. I can't wait to try the Taifun GT and the Squape now. I have ordered the HCigar Taifun to check it out from Vivid Smoke. Looks like a good clone and gets good reviews. If I do like it then I will get the original with dripper, tubes, etc. But, before I drop $250, I want to make sure that it is at least as good as the Kayfun's. I love that we can try out the better devices now without shelling out $200 to see if we like them. Since I am a total believer in supporting our originators, what I have been doing is selling my clones and buying the originals to replace them. This has worked well for me, and the better clones sell in about 2 hours in online auction, so, again, I'm pretty happy with our choices and options.
Your thoughts on the kayfun, the Taifun, the Origen, the DNA 30, the 26650, the new AFC clearos would be appreciated. Also, any tips on rebuilding would be greatly appreciated. I'm in good shape on gear and supplies now, just really excited to try different builds that provide something special in the vape. Also, if you have specific RBA/RDA recommendations, I would love to hear about them. What has worked for you? Sorry for the wall of words, didn't realize when I started that I would go in so many directions at once. Thanks for reading. All the best, and thank you again.
