Those are definately polar opposites, but both also as good as they get in their respective arenas.
I've had the volt and enjoyed it quite a bit. Recently purchased a ProVari mini with the plan of using that at home etc, and the volt on the go.
I haven't yet picked the volt back up. I'm sure I will, and it has it's place, but the size of the mini isn't intimidating once you actually have it in hand.
If it were me, I'd do the ProVari first, then add the volt or a halo G6 (same item) later if you feel the need.
Getting the volt first, I guarantee you'll still get the ProVari later. Get the ProVari first and you may save some money on the volt if you don't find the need for ultra portability.
Hope that helps...

Provari, I think, is the Rolls Royce of VV mods, I own a LT and I love it. Eventually, I might get a Provari but i'm still shying away from it because of the price tag..... I think I'll stick with my LT for a while, I love the Lava and I'm having zero issues with it...... :vapor: BTW, I'm a chain vapor so that thing is never more than a foot or 2 away from me, usually glued to my left hand.... :)

Provari is definitely one of the two top variable PV's. But for many, the rolls royce is the Darwin. Variable wattage is a much better way to regulate power. And you won't find a more consistent variable APV than the Darwin, not to mention battery run times of 35 hours on a charge and it doubles as a pass-through.

Depends what you like. For the money if you like dripping I believe the PureSmoker Legacy is awesome, if you don't like dripping the REO mini or grand are amazing as well. I can't even decide between my minis or grands. The mini is surprisingly small, the Grand uses 18650 so 1-2 days minimum before charging. Mini only gives 8 hours or so.

I will say that his is just my opinion and I am not a VV proponent and I love my wood mods but I don't take them out of the house anymore after dropping and cracking one.

Part of the fun is the journey of finding what fits you. You can always relist on the classifieds. I buy from there and have had no problem breaking even or losing less than $20 a mod. Also if you team up with buddies and go to vape meets you can try new things without laying out cash.

I'm leaning towards a Volt. I still need to watch more reviews though. Provari would be cool and I eventually might get one but it's bulky and pushing a button several times to get different voltages seems like it would be annoying. Also I'm not really desiring more vapor from my kGo. Having a better battery life would be cool though. But it's much more expensive than the Volt. Cool thing about the Volt is the small size and carrying case. Hmm...I'm a little torn. I want both!

The chief difference in the Provari and the Lavatube are construction, the ability to deliver high amperage, and precise voltage control in the electronics. Provari is constructed of machined stainless steel, similar to fine handguns. The electronics can deliver 3.5 amps and maintain voltage regulation to .1 volts. This gives you consistency in the vape. Set it for 4.2v on a 3 ohm cartomizer and each draw is the same every time.

The Provari V2 is heavy at 9 ounces, but I carry it a jeans or shorts pocket and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. An eGo is much lighter, but limited in voltage. The eGo is my backup and the next batteries I buy for it will probably be the triple voltage type that will let me use standard attys at 4.2v or 2 ohms at 3.2v and 3.7v. We all need a backup, or two, or three.

No, the volt is a KR808D-1 which will only work with those cartos (unless you want to play with adapters, but I wouldn't, those carts work very well with those batteries, plus the whole idea is sleek and portable, right?).
Others are the Bloog and the Halo G6, all three are completely interchangeable.
I'm personally a HUGE fan of Halo liquids so I had ordered G6 (808D-1) cartos from them in the past.

Do 510 cartomizers work with the Volt?

If you want to get your feet wet in VV but keep the Kgo form and not spend a lot of money, the new eGo Twist might be something to consider. Cignot has it for $29. It has a buck boost circuit with continuous VV between 3.2v to 4.8v. Only the 650 mah is currently available so the battery charge probably won't last very long at higher voltages but at the price it strikes me as a reasonable way to see if you like VV.

ive been vaping for only a few months and i took the plunge with the provari i was hesitant at first but im so glad i did the size thing was an issue for me but when i got it that issue faded away when finding out you can tune it to the flavor of your juice the button is so easy to use after 5 min of playing with it you will be a pro it is completely worth the cash i dont find myself looking for new mods now because why buy a chevy when you already have a porsche

Why spend $200? A Provari is awesome to have but if you want to get similar results just get a KGO. At 45 bucks for 2 you have a system that lasts for a year or more per battery (that's 2 years!), and recharge your batteries every other day since they last for 11 hours a piece. They don't work with Dual Coil Cartomizers, and that sucks but the fact is provari users most often find that their "sweet spot" is just over what the KGO puts out. It can't be that much different. So, I vote the KGO for one reason. You can get a 5v passthrough for 10 bucks (electronstix) and by the time you jam a dual coil on there, you're exactly at that sweet spot that provari users so often use. Yeah, you're tethered to an outlet or a car cigarette lighter but it's there when you need it and it costs 10 bucks versus $200. That's my 2 cents. If you want to know more about my position you can click on my name and read my blog.
