I have tried using Genesis atty's, but have been limited in what I can do with them because all I have is my ProVeri to fire them up on. I want to get a mechanical mod so I can set up a genesis coil around 1om.

I don't think that I would like the bottom fire button mods, and since you need to leave a genesis setup standing upright, to keep it from leaking, I can't see that would be the best fit.

The Genesis fanatics have their suggestions on mech mods, but come-on, $175 to $250 for a basic / simple non-electronic mod. With only battery tube, contact switch and atty connector?

Is the Bolt a mech mod? I don't know, what would you suggest? I would like to spend around $50 to $75 or so. It is kinda hard to find all the mods like this, because every website, if they have one, they only have one.

It's 13ish bucks over your range but it's made in the US and a really solid device. It's a bottom fire but the design allows for the button to be locked so you can stand it upright or put it in your pocket with no chance of it firing. The connect and button are also adjustable.

Head over to the coop section and check out the round 3 for the chichi. You can jump in for around $30.

Won't provari fire a 1.2 ohm coil? I honestly doubt you will notice a difference between a 1.2ohm coil and a 1.0 coil, especially since you can change the voltage on your provari to adjust the vape, whereas with a mechanical you are going to have changing power over the life of the battery.

Just my 2cents based on using genesis with mech and regulated mods. Personally, I would give up the ability to eek out another .2 ohms for the ability to maintain my sweetspot over the life of the battery. Plus, you don't need to buy a new device. YMMV

This caught my eye, and I ended up purchasing a couple of the Legacy SS Mini 18350 model. Can't wait till they come in...

Going back to OP's question, how hot are you planning to run your Ultra LR Gen?

I have a mini and the kick sleeve for it. It's a real nice device. The only thing to watch out for, and it's a good thing, is the travel on the switch. You just add or remove washers to adjust for battery size (flat top vs button top) and generally how far the switch travels before it fires.

Also, you could just buy an 18650 tube and switch the bottom/top over. I am going to do that one of these days.

I run twisted 32 gauge kanthal @ 0.8 ohm on my Chi-Chi and it's a vaping MONSTER! (I use the Panasonic 18650 hybrids)

I'm a firm believer in mechanical mods when it comes to genesis atomizers now. 20+ watts is simply amazing. And believe me, you won't have to worry about the battery all that much. The amount of nicotine you get with a setup like that requires you to lower the amount you vape. Heck, if I take more than like 5-8 long drags off my genesis mod and keep going Ill start getting a nicotine head ache. (12mg juice).

Battery last awhile in itself as well. The regulation circuits in regulated mods eat a decent chunk of a batteries life. I don't think my battery has ever dropped below 3.9 volts before I put it on the charger ... and that's after hours of use.

The ProVeri is the GREATEST battery mod in the world. I have had mine for very close to 2 years now. I have dropped it numerous times, but the button and everything else keeps on working, and working longer than any battery device I have ever used. BUT, it is very protective of its self. With my Genesis mods, I thought the same as you, why have a .9om coil and burn it 4V when you could have a 1.5 and burn it at 5V. But my ProVeri didn't like that. With 1.5 to 1.7om coil, it wouldn't go over 4.1V. With 1.2 to 1.4om coil, it wouldn't go over 3.5V. The ProVeri is to scared, and self protective, to pump the voltz on Genesis mods.

Thanks guys! I'll look these up.
Can you tell me where you bought these, and where to find that GG clone?

The Provari has a 3.5 amp limitation ... that is why you can't get lower ohm coils to work at higher voltages. So a 1.2 ohm coil can only go up to 4.2 volts MAX on the Provari, which is 14.7 watts.

This is why mechanical/unregulated devices tend to give better results with a properly set up genesis atomizer. You can reach much higher wattages and since a genny wicks so well, your juice will not burn at those higher wattage. Not only does it not burn the juice flavoring, but it doesn't burn the nicotine. That is also why you FEEL the nicotine more in a genesis atomizer.

I bought my GG Clone at Hoosier Vapes but I think they are sold out right now. $29.99 ... was $24.99 or $26.99 when I bought mine. (Not sure if they're still giving that price, I know you didn't get the discount price until you added it to your cart)

Well, I guess I will admit I haven't ever gone over 15 watts. Really prefer between 8 and 10. I have experimented up to 15 but, didn't feel it was better. Maybe if I tried 20watts I would understand better.

Will have to wrap a .8ohm coil next time and see how it hits on my legacy.

As long as you don't have a hot spot and your wick is wicking right, you will get NO burn taste and I promise the nicotine delivery will be crazy good. Since I didn't have 28 gauge kanthal I experimented with twisted 32 gauge and fell in love. No hot spots .... nice even firing coils .... and more efficient wicking.

Made a huge difference.

I checked out Hoosiers The did have it in stock, so I ordered it, at that price - it was a no brainer. They also had some 28G Kant wire also. It is really low in price, so I don't know for how long it will work. So I will keep looking for a more sturdier model that suites me.

I purchased the Legacy SS Mini straight from PureSmoker. They are listed for about $87. I should have looked for a coupon, but it's ok.
