did anybody see p.busardo's video comparison/test of four types of wick material. he compares organic cotton, koh gen do japanese cotton, rayon, and hemp. from what i could tell, rayon was the best. koh gen do seemed to wick as fast but clogged sooner after multiple tanks. organic still out performed hemp.

i guess what i am asking is who vapes rayon? what are your thoughts on this material. his test is the first i have heard of rayon and that being a suitable wick material.

I watched most of the review and saw Phil was using the same organic cotton I use. Saw it basically come in last place though really surprised me. I think I would try Japanese Cotton before Rayon though.... even though I hear people rave about it, want something natural.

The stuff is so cheap you really could try both and not break the bank... If you don't like it I'm sure you'll find a use for it or wife/girlfriend lol. I've barely made a dent in the organic cotton bag and have been building coils/wicks for a while now.

408 page thread over in the RBA Forum on Rayon/Cellucotton, http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...ck-better-flow-flavor-saturation-nic-hit.html
It's all I have used since I started rebuilding, though I am trying to get some Japanese Organic to compare it to.

I have tried some Japanese Cotton and all i can say is i dont care for the taste it gives me. Great flavor on the inhale. But a very very funky taste on the exhale. I used one of my favorite juices to compare it with (as most people would). I am testing Rayon right now. So far i have seen a better overall improvement in my Kayfun over cotton. Still unsure if i notice any difference between rayon and organic cotton in my drippers.

I really just wanted something to compare the Rayon to. KGD was always out of stock before he posted it now it will be next year before I find any in stock to try.

And hey, give it a try if you can get it. It may be different for you. I just know my taste buds said nope.

The best wicking material is whatever works best for you. Even if it came in last, cotton balls is still the cheapest. So if it works, and you like it ..............

Hell, I still like silica wicks. My wicks last three months instead of three days.

Silica is still my number 1 wick, cotton has an odd taste imo and only lasts a day or 2 with the juices I vape.

I just recently switched from organic cotton, which I would spend time boiling and drying, to rayon which I just pop in and fill up. The huge difference to me is that it seems to be a lot more absorbent. The taste is a lot cleaner, and it does feel like a stronger nic hit. I've even just dropped from 18 to 12 since using it with absolutely no issues. Aside from not having enough 12mg juices. I love rayon and have been trying to introduce it to a few friends. 3-5$ and it'll last you probably 3-6 months depending on how many times you rebuild.

I can't believe I just spent 45 minutes watching Phil compare wick. I love how thorough he is in his testing.

I have a different brand of Japanese cotton. It works great and is easy to use. I also have a box of Rayon Cellucotton. It's a bit harder to use. Getting the density right is a little trickier. Once you get it right, it's also great. I could use either one without complaint. But the Rayon wicks really do last longer. Being lazy about rewicking, I'll stick with Rayon.

i would be happy to get three full tanks on one wick. rayon has got my interest. the KGD cotton strands seem better oriented or straighter than regular organic. makes sense to wick faster along straight lines. three tanks may be the limit though. rayon on the other hand has greater potential imo. leaves me no choice but to source both. i visit tyj site every week to keep up with phil. that video was in warp speed compared to usual. he sure has the tech down to produce professional quality videos. i appreciate his attempt to approach things in an unbiased manner.

Rayon or Cotton. Both start off with a strange taste, then transition to the taste of the juice. I get a more prominent flavor from Rayon and Cotton (both seem to give the same amount of flavor).
Cotton is nice, cheap, easy to find, and easy to use. However, the wicks burn rather quickly.
Rayon is nice, cheap, but tends to be difficult to find. I purchased a 500ft roll for $10 so I wouldn't have to worry about restocking. Rayon does not seem to burn as fast as cotton; my coils tend to gunk up before I see a hint of black on the wick.

I love rayon! I rebuild my T3S's and for me the flavor is so much better than the cotton and yarn I was using. I don't get a breaking in time, the flavor much "cleaner" and I can change flavors and it takes very little time before you taste the new flavor. You can read on the rayon thread about the safety of it. Also, if you don't want to use the one from Sally's there are medical rayon balls you can buy from Delasco. The thread talks about those as well.
