What's the easiest way to take the bottom of the tank off of the battery itself?

Back story: I decided to dig my system out of the bottom of my purse (first time in months, if not over a year !!). I drained the liquid out before I discontinued using, but did not thoroughly wash the tank or even disconnect it from the battery << stupid me. Therefore, after all this time, my tank (a Kangertech Aerotank, the first model) does not screw off AT ALL, except for the part where the coil unit goes. The tank itself won't unscrew (not a problem, I'm getting rid of this tank) and the part that houses the coil unit that attaches to the adapter that attaches to the battery (confusing I know) will NOT unscrew, probably due to dried/sticky liquid or just plain stubbornness. Does anyone have any tips on how to detach this?

Hi shawneelynn. My first advice would be to try a rubber band over the tank and see if it grips enough like those kitchen grippers for jars. My second advice would be to find a friend who is delicate enough with a small pair of pliers, wrap the tank with the rubber band and twist gently with the pliers... I had to do this for a friend recently, and resorted to the pliers, it didn't take much pressure to fix it.

Good luck.
