Wow, you have to love people who can only see things their way.
Not sure what you are getting at here. I see most of these posts as testimonials of how people evolved with their equipment and why.
MODS started because of the lack of good equipment and reasonable prices. I have to say things are changing. The need for MODs has diminished greatly. There are many mass produced vaping units that perform on par with MODS, and are a great deal smaller.
Which is why I generally use the terrm "APV" or Advanced Personal Vaporizers. Which loosely refers to a e-cig type device that utilizes a removable rechargeable battery and may or may not have variable voltage and/or wattage. Call me crazy but I always thought the word "mod" was a reference to "modification" or "modified" (i.e. from the cig-a-like style e-cig using objects such as flashlights to create a new device.). Guess MOD means something else...anyone want to enlighten this Grasshopper what the M the O and the D stand for?
Most people don't want to fiddle with equipment. They also don't want to be seen vaping a peace pipe in public. They want to buy and vape no thinking required.
Some people love to fiddle. The more fiddling, the happier they are. But I do agree that's probably not the majority. As for the "peace pipe in public"...yeah. Probably that's the case. For most people. At first. Then after awhile, some put more value on their vaping experience than they do the opinions of other people and come to not give a rip what it "looks" like.
Its all about personal preference. I not saying MODs are bad, different people like different things.
Yep.
Oh and with my eroll or similar size unit I will have something most MODs will never have.......Look no hands......
That's funny. But I never was a "hands free" smoker (unless forced to in situation of no choice) so I never was a "hands free" vaper, even with the small Volts and V2s. Not something I put value on , for
myself personally. What I DID want was something that would not require frequent charging, would carry a lot of juice at one time, and required a minimum of worry and fuss..yet be small, preferably not a tube shape, a be nice looking (Indulging my vanity. Yeah, okay.... I'm a girl). I do have a couple of "pipe bombs" for the Vapocalypse ...but I wouldn't consider them my top choice for all day vaping.
The one thing I emphatically agree with is that it's all personal preference. And by exploring places like ECF , we're the lucky ones who get to find out about possibilities available (and be inspired to dream up a few ideas)...and because of our numbers, we create a demand so manufacturers will create the things we want.
