I have tried both ordering kanthol online and buying from my local vape shop and it always has a slight metallic taste. I have tried torching it, getting it red hot with just battery power before wicking, and just winding and wicking. The extra coil that came with the subtank has no metallic taste and they are a bit thicker than my 28 gauge kanthol. Maybe 26 gauge?

where'd you get your subtank? if it's a clone, different clones are going to come with different materials.

also, maybe the wire that came with yours is nichrome

It's an authentic kanger
Is nichrome stiffer or harder to work with?

What does "It's an authentic kanger" mean:
(a) some body else told you it was an authentic kanger
(b) you bought it off ebay
(c) you ordered it online from kangertech
(d) it had an "authenticity code" and a link to some stange iteration website like "kxyz.kanger.zx" and you checked the code on that strange website and the website said it was 'authentic'
