Would appear that Wilsons stumbled badly on this one.

Previous communication i had about a week and a half ago indicate that a cashiers check would be fine.

What passed as an e-mail Monday said nothing other than what my total would be, in USD. Nothing about additional fees or anything else.

So I sent a cashiers check for the amount cited in that most recent e-mail.

Since then I have seen nothing but confusion on every forum I visit.

Stumbled very badly.

with the issue reguarding payment for sharrowmills-online.....it seems they dont have their act together. yes they are an established and reputable manufacturer of snuff....but as a consumer retailer.....hmmmm.

i for one will not jump hurdles for their snuff.....its good but not good enough to endure the hassle of making a payment to them.

maybe one day when they iron out the issue of cc payment....i will place an order

Evenin' all :). Just got back home and jumped on line for a catch-me-up....wow...issues......

Looks like alot of hassle to me.I hope the pricing is worth it? Kind of happy that I am not a big Wilsons lover!

Good luck to everyone!

Ditto, Wiz. Glad I stick to what I know. Not only do I hate hassles, after my recent experience with clubsnus I'd probably be sendin' my next 25 paychecks to someplace in Paraguay tryin' to get my WoS order .

Sortin' out the confusion with:

Oden ES Kanel los
Folgers ES

Here is the inquiry I just sent to WoS

This is regarding order #100000054 and payment for said. For your reference I am in the US.

I had communication with Carol Walker some time back and at that time she told me a bank check would be acceptable payment for an order from the US.

Someone representing your company gave notice on the snuff users forum snuffhouse.org announcing the launch of your online store.

I took advantage of the sale, gladly, as did several other US based snuff enthusiasts. As of Monday there has been mounting confusion regarding acceptable methods of payment.

Your website now shows only the option of BACS for US customers. I don't even know what that is but at the time I ordered the Payment Information page also made mention of checks and money orders. The verbiage on that page has changed since I placed my order.

Back on point.
The most recent communication recieved was from Carol again, on the morning of April 19th, 2010. This e-mail simply quoted what I owed in USD and nothing else.
No mention of BACS or wire transfer or additional fees for a cashiers check or any of the various other things that other potential buyers have been told over the last 24 hours.

Are you aware that direct bank transfers from the US to Europe range anywhere from USD 33 to 60 depending on the individuals banking establishment?

Yesterday afternoon based on information I had at that time I placed a Bank Cashiers check made out in the amount that Carol cited in the e-mail I received. The check cost me $7, an additional $1 to mail it all to you.

My question is simply will this payment be accepted?

Thank you for your time in addressing this inquiry,

Sorry to hear all the confusion everyone has experienced. Sage words come back, if it sounds to good to be true..... Really doesn't appear that Wilsons is too awfully concerned with the small customer base they have in the US. But then again perhaps enough inquiry's will get their attention that all is not well and good here in the colonies.

imo...they should be concerned. im curious to know..of all the orders they have taken so far...how many of them were from US customers. snus and snuff manufacturers and distributors should make an effort to make a strong presence here in the US.

or maybe they are trying but BT is getting in the way...IDK

evening all!

Getting ready for bed and watching a little television as I get sleepy.

I left the house today and forgot everything important: my can of general, my snuffbox, and my bottle of e-liquid....yikes! Luckily I had a small tin of Toque Lime Toast in the car, and a can of Thunder Berry in my laptop bag....whew! Today was almost a catastrophe!

It's a shame to hear all the woes about WoS's online shop, but I'm sure they'll get their act together soon...they're still very new as a shop, and everything's kind of up in the air with US purchases and the impending doom of the PACT. I'm still glad I vowed to not order any more snuff/snus until June....so far so good!

Finishing up the evening with:
Snuff: WoS Royal George
Snus: general mint
Vape: spiced fried apples in my V2
Drink: iced tea w/ lemon

Away..
Morning all,

hittman,
I send & recieve money to emails all the time with no problem. If it ID's the account # as Wilsons of Sharrow Snuff, that wont go with "Pay not your Pal". I don't think they can do a bank to bank transfer. They just access funds from it.

DG, I figured it would get there today(yesterday). Enjoy, it's to waaaaaay floral for me.

Anyone begining to think WoS got hit harder than they thought they would? lol
Some of the US sellers show items "from bulk". What if they got in on the order and orderd 10lbs of each? 8-o

Ok...4:51AM Wed. and I just received my 1st communication(Carol). Looks like they are getting the idea. It shows my total in US currency that is exactly what I calculated, their bank number and this "However a personal/bank cheque is acceptable." No mention of any fees. I wouldn't do a personal check in case they hold until it clears. MO's and Bank/Cashiers Checks are paid upfront and have never been a problem for me.
They are an established company and are just getting their feet wet in the New World of business. If it were a new supplier that just popped up, I'd cancel.

I am going to send a "confirm this is correct in US Currency and is a US Money Order acceptable as it show on my receipt."

Gonna be something strong!

Well put vaporer

Wilsons was obviously not ready for the "launch". As said elsewhere, masters with snuff, neophytes at web commerce.

There were a variety of responses to several US based enthusiasts as to what was an acceptable form of payment. Sloppy form but so it goes.

That there may be a merchant charge of some sort assessed Wilsons by their own bank to process a cashiers check, could be, I don't know but that's what they tell me.
I just received response from Carol and she informs me that there will be a $6 additional fee for accepting checks in the future. Apparently they incur additional expense when the accept a check?

That she used the phrase "in the future" I can only assume that the check I mailed on Monday will be accepted sans the additional $6 fee.

All in all a good sale, clumsy launch, but we do all stumble.

    Somewhere between here and there
Good morning. I had an email this morning from Carol. She said that personal check or bank check would be the least expensive way to go and made no mention of an additional fee for sending a check. I am still debating whether to even mess with it or not. It's not like I have to have the order. It just would have been nice to get that much snuff for such a good price.

LOL - look like Tricia who sent my e-mail @ 4:48, didn't get the 'interoffice memo' about accepting personal/bank cheque...so that's good to know, Vaporer.:D

I'm still hanging out here rethinking, not one word was acknowledged about my e-mail on not wanting air freight, when I thought it was a website glitch to begin with that I didn't get offered the lower freight. A little lacking in consumer relations even though they are new at this...hmmm.

Almost $37 for a 3-3.5 pound order is over the top for me. Well, still debating these freight charges and what I'll do.

Hittman, I'm with you after this messy situation. I do already have a lot of WOS and restocked the week before on the ones I like with another big order.

So it was the half pound drums that got to me - "fresh from the mill" sounded so good, but I think I'm just letting it go at this point....unless they acknowledge my e-mail on freight.
