Hey all,

Just received my v8, and i'm not sure if Im missing something here but I popped the batteries into the pv (out of the box), filled the tank, started vaping, nothing.

I connected the 510/510 adapter and tried again; this time the pv kept resetting to 5v and didn't even allow me to hold down the middle button w/out turning off.

I charged the batteries for an hour, tried again with and without the 510 adapter, same story. Tried the other tank that I purchased, same story.

What's going on?

Why does the device go nuts when the adaptor is connected?

Both of my v8s do it every now and then, only with certain cartos/tanks. Last night it was doing it with the carto tank that came with it( I don't remember if it has a new carto in it or not)...anyways, I really wanted it to work (I've slipped up and let my supplys get low)....i screwed it in til it just barely touched (I mean really just BARELY!) and it works fine. I do mean barely...like if I wiggle the v8 the tank actually moves :) But I've been using it all day at work, and no problems. Wierd. Is it possible that pressure on the inner workings from a tank/carto with a long enough post could make it act up? Anyone else experienced/tried this? I still totally love my v8s though! This 5.0 thing is just a very minor and occasional thing for me anyways. Got a Segali VV tube coming, cant wait to try it. I really hope it hits just like the v8 :) It's a red one, cause nobody ever makes cool earthy GREEN tones in these things!

I had issues with a new v8 as well - above & beyond a super=tight battery compartment. I had lights all over, screwed in a clearo, tank, etc: every time it'd dim to half and flash and - well, it'd sit there. Multimeter said no voltage was even coming out the 510.

Back to my Puck.

yep seems to be a serious issue with the manufacturer process. over the weekend eric removed them from sale on the website.

mine also did this after 1 day of getting it. its such a shame because its such a nice device and when it works rocks the house with its vapor and solid build.

iv not found a way to stop it from doing the revert to 5.0 volt thing. i tried unscrewing it a little and it works for a minute or so and it reverts back to 5 volts again.

its possible its just this batch that has this problem, because it seems eric and other have sold hundreds of other units before this issue popped up

I hope it's just the batch, because mine is awesome so far! Been using it for a couple of months now with no problems! (Well, there was the time I accidentally switched it to 6v and blew the coil on my T2 - thankfully they are rebuildable!!). I hope you get the problem sorted out!

Well, knowing the way Eric loves his customers and really actually cares what happens to customers we will all be fine.
