Nope, no sizzle at all,

power does not hit the atty. It really sux cuz eventho i'm no long term vapor by no means. I do share the same feelings as you do....
Compared to 808, 510, 901, 4072, the 302 or the 304 Janty version w/ the gold trim instead of silver, are DEF my favorites. >< So i'll def be hell bent trying to fix this myself.
( I have not tried 801 or 112 yet, but i doubt my opinions will change )
LOL, yep apparently you just got lucky. My 302's, I got 4 of em atm, I tried like 10x to get ea. one to work w/ the V2 but they just don't get any battery juice whatsoever.
I tried using those same 302's in my Mod 510 battery hooked w/ adapter to 801....
They work flawlessly just like yours do but w/ 3.7v NOT the V2 5v.
I did notice, however..... if I 'try' to use the 302's w/ the V2
THEN hook em back up to my 3.7v....... they need to be fiddled with to work. ><
I have a 'LED light' on the 3.7v mod that allows me to watch the batteries activity like normal e-cigs allow you to do.
- The 302 will be perfectly screwed onto the 510 but ....no 'lights' w/ a fresh battery?!

- So I unscrew the 302 power it on again w/o the atty...... the 'lights' are on?!

What the heck....
- So I gotta 'fiddle' w/ em by holding down the switch & screwing the atty slightly tighter on til 'lights' shut off... screw a little off & then try again, hoping the atty & battery stop shutting ea. other down & allows the battery to STAY on ...and warm the atty...
Not sure what thats all about but.... eventually it works
Although <_< I do have one battery thats been doing the same thing.....
It lights up the 'LED lights' but.... only w/ the atty off .....weird
I wound up tossing that battery to the side bout a week ago considering it a 'dead' battery
Now i'm not so sure that's even the case anymore.
