Looking at the bottom silver ring, It looks like it will unscrew. Have you tried to remove this ring? That will give you better access and allow a q-tip to slide in and remove the coloration. Complete disassembly is preferred. Certainly remove the "lip-tip", too.

Soak it in warm (almost hot to the hand) water - no soap, 2 or 3 times, until the water cools. I use a small jar and shake the daylights out of it several times. Then, I soak mine in 91% isopropyl alcohol, Same jar, same shaking. Then blow it dry with canned air. Now, let it dry in a warm place for a good while. Looking at a you-tube video will show you how to "dry burn" the coil. This is important in order to remove the caked on ..../gunk from the little coil. Watch the video!

Or, throw it away and get some backup atty's from your local B&M or internet.

I prefer the Kangor T3s - about 6 bucks. Easy to clean and have an inexpensive replaceable coil unit - about 2 bucks.

As far as I can see from the videos on YouTube, dry burning is mostly for the coil. I anyway replaced the coil with a new one, I'm asking about the condition of the plastic tank itself (the tube), it looks like there's something white inside or the plastic melted, I'm not sure what happened to it and if it's safe to continue using this tube.

I used the ECB Butterscotch, it's a dark liquid. I only washed the tank with hot water few times, didn't use any soap or cleaning materials.
The bottom ring is the only way to get into the tank, the top piece cannot be taken apart (it's an Aspire CE5 BDC).

Thanks for all the replies!

Flatten a q-tip to get it inside to wipe the stuff away. You might just find it has been etched by the previous juice(s), and cannot be removed. If that's the case, you should be ok.

Another cleaning tip (I have never used) is false teeth denture cleaning tablets. I know they do a great job on my teeth.
Just use about 1 cup of warm water, drop both the atty and the tablet in, let it bubble down, and again, shake, shake, shake.
Leave it overnight - I do.

I've seen that clouding with menthol, eucalyptus, cinnamon but not butterscotch. On the former, it's actually the plastic 'melting' - I pitch those. I'd try the flattened Qtip idea above or perhaps there's some makeup thin sponge tipped things my wife uses - not sure for what - they'd fit into the tube. If the 'clouds' wipe away, I'd say keep them. If not it may be a 'melting' that's going on and I'd pitch them, and consider using glass for that flavor.
