Just did some research on the, i would take a guess at why : they do have a high discharge but their capacity is very low and from the little research i saw they have low voltage 1-2 volts very few 3v
I think that it's due to the expense and the energy density. A standard e-cig battery has around 180 mah, that means it can deliver 180 hours of 1 milliamp. A lithium watch battery has only 55 mah and costs around 3 dollars retail. Considering that they aren't rechargeable, that makes them very expensive to operate with. Also I think you'd have to stack at least two then down regulate to 3.7 volts to get it to work.
OK, makes sense..BUT, (you knew it was coming, didn't you> ), considering how long they last in watches, etc., if you stack a BUNCH of them, wouldn't THAT work for both the voltage and the life span, or should I stop drinking my own bathwater...
If you stacked a BUNCH of them the voltage would be too high. The voltage is additive when they're in series. So you'd need little stacks of 3 in series and then wire the stacks in parallel (and probably include a voltage regulator). Now you would have a battery that would be way larger than the equivalent ones we use due to the extra casing material. and it would cost orders of magnitude more. and it wouldn't be rechargeable.

I think it more comes down to why by 8 pints of milk from a coner store for $1.50 each when you can buy 1 gallon for $3 that take up the same space in the fridge.
Therotically yes you could stack enough to do it. but stacked you would probably get the same as a 18650. Just like a laser pointer.

IMHO yup! If it could be done, it would have been done already.
Since I know where you are going with this, you might want to consider the Icon from PS. It runs on a 14500 battery, and should give you 2-3 times what your 10440 batts render. It would be slightly larger than an eGo.
