IPA (or any beer, really) from the can is fantastic. im really glad breweries are realizing this. two of my favorite canned IPAs: Ghandi Bot (New England Brewing), and Gubna (Oskar Blues). :D

I actually hadn't thought about pairing e-juice and beer.

I've had some Caldera IPA in cans the past few nights with my Orange Mint custom mix from Gourmet Vapor and it does indeed go pretty well, I hadn't even considered the citrus factor of both the IPA and the juice.

I'd be mostly inclined to say tobacco flavors would be the best, something about an analog and beer going hand in hand.

I agree fully, plus cans on paper are just better for beer. They let in no light at all (even brown glass will let in a bit), with new liners I haven't had a "metallic taste" in a very long time (talking like, MGD when I first tried beer back 9 years ago or so), I believe if aluminum isn't the most readily recycled material it is at least one of them, plus it crushes for compactness and pays more at recycling.

Cans FTW :D

exactly. less waste, less cost shipping (lighter), they stack better, theyre smaller, the drinking experience is better (cans are like cups, bottles are like funnels which is a horrible design for pouring it into a glass or your mouth). the caps on bottles are also not as airtight as a can is. and the list goes on...

beer (and food) cans have been getting treated with a water-based polymer that does not affect taste for some time now. but i do remember the old MGDs!
i think the can tasted better than the beer

Awesome thread guys..... I agree, cans are the way to go. Sierra Nevada just put out their Torpedo in Tall Boy 4 packs. Maui Brewing Company has all their beer in cans and they are Phenomenal. I've been thinking about pairing combos too ever since I started vaping 1 1/2 months ago. I am a huge fan of IPA's also. Southern Tier and DogfishHead are my go to IPA's for the most part. I like BWB's honey flue, RY4, and Backo. Goodejuice's GJ4 pairs great with the 60 minute IPA also. Southern Tier IPA is a pretty sweet "in your face IPA" and pairs excellent with SI's Volt RY4 which is really punchy and in your face as well. They taste like they were made for each other. Yesterday, I finally got to try BWB Casablanca after steeping for 2 weeks. It went really well with Ballast Point Sea Monster Imperial Stout (San Diego) and Otter Creek Stovepipe Porter(VT). Victory Brewing Company's HopDevil which is spicy, goes great with BWB's Ejoker..... I'm sure I'll think of more pairings after I sober up:toast: Oh yeah, Mom& Pop's Butterfly Bait goes great with Mai Tai's!! And Kemosabe.... that rug really did tie the room together....

the citrus punch also goes great with another favorite drink of mine, the vodka gimlet.

and as a matter of fact, citrus punch also goes smashingly with light lagers (Corona, Bud Light, etc.). its like a lime in your beer! :)

Ok, you've convinced me to try Citrus Punch :) Order placed, can't wait to try it!

They also released the Pale Ale in 12oz - 12packs and its mind blowing. They can condition (which, afaik, is the first brewery to do so, though I've not looked into it) and at first sip its the same great ale we're used to. I'm so glad they finally added these to the line up, I first heard rumor about them 2-3 years ago. I'm associated with the local distributor too so that definitely has its perks. :D

TGIT, me and my buddies go to a local tavern for "Occupint." Made a tradition out of it, been going since mid-late August last year. :p Only missed 3 Thursdays so far I think, two of those were because I was physically unable haha.

Those are some pretty interesting sounding combos, I'll have to give some of them a try, though sadly this area lacks DogFishHead entirely, only has a few Victories (mostly Golden Monkey which I haven't liked since High School), but not to say we lack Craft Brews. Lagunitas IPA might be the first one I try to pair, god I love that stuff.

I homebrew and stick to low hopped beers, 30IBU is the top of my limit. Most are roasty but some wheats and rye.

Johnson Creek Red Oak Tennessee Cured is what I've settled on.
I know you said tobacco hasn't worked, but this tobacco tastes more like cappuccino to me.

Surprisingly Valencia (orange) does not go with the wheat or roggenbier.

excellent post SOKG. and excellent taste in beer too ;)
the torpedo tallboys are fantastic. they also have their flagship, the pale ale, in cans as well.
the southern tier 2x IPA is a gem. their 2X stout is also a winner. its got smokey notes, which i love. litte hints at that barbeque pig roast campfire action happening.
glad to hear about SIs RY4 being punchy. ive often wondered about their jucie line.
if you like HopDevil, youll like their Headwaters. its a very good hoppy pale ale, like SNPA but a tad better. and then theres the Hop Wallop if you want a real um...wallop.

"Theres a beverage here!"

no theyre not the first but i praise SN for all they do. Dales Pale Ale (Oskar Blues)was the brew that really kick-started the canned craft beer bonanza.
i like your Occupint tradition!

I see you're from somewhere in NorCal? I lived in Truckee/Tahoe for ten years. It was tough to find a good variety up there. I think I drank a lot of Deschutes back then. I'm in CT now and someone has definitely been pushing Lagunitas here cause everyone carries it.

Yeah I'm in that backwoods Siskiyou County, against the Oregon border.

Deschutes definitely has a strong presence here along with Sierra Nevada, we've got the local Weed Brewing Company (Feat. Mt Shasta Ales, they are so odd...) and they are decent though new brewer has changed some stuff for worse. Alaskan brewing too, which is one of my favorites. There Black IPA is a tasty brew.

Man a beer sounds real good now but its 11:16am.

interesting. maybe its the spice (clove) thats throwing it off.

in any event i dig me some low hopped beers as well. porters, stouts, and hefes are my go-to low hoppers but ive always wanted to get more into gueuzes and wild ales. the sour notes are just flat out delicious. gimmie that barnyard! :D

OOooo Highbrow has an exotic?! whats it taste like...similar to BWB?

Yes they do & it's excellent:) While they do taste rather similar to one another the Highbrow,at least to me,has a more robust tobacco flavor than BWB. Both very excellent vapes,I tend to vape more of the Highbrow Exotic when I'm having a bad taste bud day

^very iiiinteresting. ive heard lots of good things about Highbrow. this info may be just the springboard i needed to dive into some 'brow. good lookin out.

the website looks like the dont do PG VG ratios...looks like its either all one or the other.....?

The options they give are vg& pg(100% whichever of those you choose),but the "mix" option is 80pg/20vg. However, scroll down to the bottom of the page under "ingredients listing"and it says you may chose any VG/PG percentage you wish at checkout under "customize this product"
