... but when I see a thread and think I might can help, I'll click on it and if it turns out to be about something I'm not familiar with, I won't post.

BINGO! Same here. I know my eGo options and have found my 'home'. I did try an Old Goat and it just didn't compare to my eGo/eMDCC combo. Ergo, I stay out of/off the mod topics.

Also, when I see someone answering a question that aligns with my observations, I usually give a 'like' and let the topic flow.

Nothing wrong with saying "Welcome to ECF", don't know about your rig but I can bump ya up to get some attention. A couple "hi's" and a buried post is back on top :) And you can be one of the first members to welcome a noob to ECF (I still remember the members that first answered me....)
Yes I've done that for noobs but not usually for someone who's been around awhile, I think they'd be looking for a straight up answer.

I agree with what a lot of people said on this thread. Posting a "BUMP!" in your thread helps a lot. Especially when it starts to get buried under other threads. A lot of people usually don't look through a few pages for a thread that hasn't been responded too.

Personally, I do look for those threads and try the best that I can. Even though I'm not all to knowledgeable with certain topics. I give my advice or opinion with the intention of getting that person some help. It's my way of bumping a thread.

There are really a lot of knowledgeable people on this forum. You just have to take the time to know them. It's like every other part of life. The more comfortable people are with communicating with you. The more likely they'll help you out in a time of need.
