One thing I love about the Reo is the hastle free way of refilling an empty bottle. Something that makes me feel smugly superior over the tube mod tank people with their needles and extra pocket tools. I usually can get a new 6mls of custom DIY into my Reo Grand in under 2 minutes. Yeah, I leave the battery and attys in because whenever I refill its cuz I'm about to leave for somewhere and just remembered I wont have enough for the day.

1. Unscrew empty 6ml bottle
2. pour out and fill 1/5 of bottle with 100mg Nicotine VG base
3. Fill up to half the bottle with Flavoring
4. Fill the remaining bottle with VG up until bottle neck
5. Holding the bottle closed with my thumb, I hold the bottom with my index finger and flip upside down and rightside up till the airbubble swishes the juice enough so its a solid color an no longer layered or swirly.
6. Insert tube and screw back in to Reo Grand!

There, all done with another 6 mls to enjoy and I'm back downstairs all within that commercial break. But my equipment tends to reflect by hastiness and my first reo had crud inside its nooks in crannies from all those rushed fills. So what steps do you go through when its time to Refill?

I premix my diy juice in 30 or 40ml batches. That makes it much easier than your method. You sure use a lot of flavoring in your juice. I remove the door, unscrew the cap on my batch of juice and shake it a bit. Remove the battery then unscrew the Reos bottle. I fill the bottle to the neck, reinsert the tube into the bottle tne screw it back on. THen I slide the door back on and vape and wonder why I am not getting hit. THen I look at the battery I forgot to put back in and put it back in.

We use a lot of flavoring too....though I can't say its that much. But we use at least 10% of the concentrated flavors. Makes me wonder just how much my taste buds are hosed.

My method....premix 30ml -120ml bottles. Remove batteries, unscrew 6ml bottle & set aside. Take paper towel and wipe tube and blow through atomizer with the vent covered to get excess juice out of the tube...then lay the mod down with paper towel. Rinse out 6ml bottle. Refill with juice of choice. Screw bottle back one, put batteries back in, slide the door on and vape. :)

Those refilling measurement ratios are for close to 40mg strength juice, so yeah, on my LR901 its Always itchy and hot and hurty yet SATISFYING that itch, but thats all I've ever known since my first impression with an auto 401 atty. I'd actually like to premix into a nice 60ml glass dropper and have a nice standby to bring with me to share or refill. Unfortunately all my flavors are those "3ml sample sizes" so I literally wouldnt have enough to make a big batch. Over the past 3 years of buying flavors I can never commit to a large amount and instead get a lot of flavors in small portions. I think one 3ml flavor gets me 3 complete refills into the Reo bottle before its all gone. I guess this next order I'll invest in just 1 tried and true standby big bottle of flavoring that I can always look forward to tasting and refreshing me, something like creamy vanilla pepermint or tangerine zing (These arent real, but if I can acquire said flavors I think I'd go big now)

I have pre-mixed 1.8% Nic/VG solution in a large bottle w/ a spout top. I unscrew the 6ml bottle...fill half way with the solution, add 5 drops of super concentrated flavorings from vapingzone...mix with thumb over the top, add the rest of the way full and repeat and I'm good for a day. If I use a mini, I mix the same way but add 2-3 drops of the super concentrated flavorings. I also carry a small eye dropper bottle (AVE) full of the 1.8% solution and a few small bottles of the super concentrated flavors with me so if I vape heavy during the day, I can easily replenish!

Ya...I've committed a 100mls of base (all my base I premixed ...I had like 800mls of base) to a flavor I ended up not being overly happy with. That sucked. But I know why and it's not the flavor, its the nic level. There isn't enough nic in my mix so it tastes muted. I'll add more nic when I'm not so torqued off about it and make it right....hopefully. But most times, we mix up 30ml testers just to make sure we're solid on the flavor. Then if its good, I'll do 100mls at a time.

Wow these nic help tips are really welcome news to me. I really never demanded full flavor since i run hot attys that always get dry by puff 3 and i always expect it to hurt and not taste at all, but Im ready to demand better and improve juice taste creation, its 2012 and apparently atomizers dont have to be crappy tasting, rinsed with rubbing alcohol overnight, cost $50 for 3 months worth, and have 2 week lifespans anymore. Its time I research new hardware, and enjoy subtle yet distinct tasty juices instead of just seeking that nic buzz. Keep em coming, this attempt to get to 20 posts is unexpectedly going to influence my purchasing decisions tonight, knowing things are actually getting better in the world of ecigs, which seemed kinda stagnant before this past year and a half.

I don't diy (yet).

My filling ritual is simple. I use 100 ml bottles from AVE with a spout top. I remove the bottle from the REO and insert the spout top of my ave juice (ave bottle physically above the REO bottle). Then I squeeze the REO bottle which pushes the air in to the 100 ml ave bottle. Then I release the pressure on the REO bottle and it sucks the juice from the ave bottle in to the REO bottle. It takes about 3 seconds no matter if I'm filling the 6 ml bottle from my VVW or the 3 ml bottle from the mini.

The journey is different for everyone...and our needs are also as diverse. Once I got my nic needs under control....which really only took about 6 months...I could focus more on flavor. We didn't really start DIYing until a few months ago because we wanted more control over what we vape and how much it costs. I started at 24mg....and worked my way down to 12mg. My current dilema is that my vape is good at 12mg. However, my tastes have been changing and I'm diggin on some tobacco flavors that I never gave a chance over the last couple of years. I have found that my new found flavor favs just don't taste right at 12mg. So I've upped the nic back to 18mg...and consequently vape a little less. So things change over time....we just adapt. :) Keep experimenting!

I use this soft foam block to hold the unflavored nic juice. it fits nicely (with the glass nic bottle in it) under the tray in the tool box I use to keep cartos and needle and other related sundries.

Then I pull the battery, the bottle, place it in that other foam block, wipe down that tube with a slightly moist bounty, extract 2ml of nic juice with that syringe, squirt it in the bottle to add to the 1ml or so that is in there, screw it back on, insert battery then door, put the blocks and needle back in tool box - done.

That's my once a day refill ritual.

Every morning while the coffee is brewing I take out batteries and put them in the to charge pile. Take off atties, blow them out into a paper towel, remove Trippy Tips and run under hot water and scrub off lip gunk. Every third day or so I shoot hot water through the feed tubes with a blunt syringe. Unscrew juice bottles and refill from DIY stash. Clean out juice wells, put in new batts, and re-attach atties and Trippys. Grab coffee and go to the Lounge.

All steps can be completed in the amount of time the Kuerig takes to brew one cup.

Those are the folks that are making large batches of base, then storing it. We did that the first time we DIYed, and will probably do it again down the road. Most recently, we've been buying 36mg VG base...then split it evenly for 18mg. These days, we're focusing on smaller batches and fine tuning our DIY. I'm sure we'll buy more 100mg at some point, but I have so much 12mg (600ml) base right now, if I want to experiment with 18mg, I just buy a 250ml of 36mg. Its cheap. :)
