For those who where wheezing while smoking how long before the wheezing went away, or does it go away? After 25 days using the e-cig but only 8 days with no cigs I worry because I'm still wheezing...not as bad when smoking every time I laid down I would have to clear my throat by couching or my wheezing would be very loud. I now notice I feel like I'm taking deeper breaths into my lungs than before but I worry with the wheezing that I already did damage that can't be reversed.

You should probably stop wheezing, but it will take time....give it a couple of more weeks. I would also suggest doing some walking/light exercise for a few minutes each day to start to strenghten your lungs a little bit.

Could be other factors (allergies, being overweight, conditioning, etc) causing wheezing and smoking just made it worse. I'm breathing easier but allergies are still kicking my .....

I had wondered if seasonal allergies where part of the problem. Everything here is green with pine pollen.

depends on how old you are and how much you smoked previously...
if you are past 50ish, it may take a couple of months before the lungs clear up.
I was at 2 PAD and it took about 9 weeks before I got to a point where the Dr. was happy with the deep breath test.

Good to know. Yeah I'm on the other side of 50.

It depends on the person. Sometimes it can take several months and others never get the cough. Drinking water helps flush the stuff out. You Are showing improvement and one day you just might not have that wheeze :)

My cough is all over the place sometimes it's loose, sometimes it's dry... sometimes it's dry and gunk seems to hang in my throat and get stuck cutting off my air supply ( which scares the pants off of me when it happens mostly in the morning )

I was wheezing badly while smoking and needed a inhaler to breathe. It took me until about day 5 then the wheeze was gone. My cough is almost gone too now at about day 10. For some I'm sure it takes longer but that's what happened to me. I'm sure everyone is different. I smoked 2 packs a day for over 25 yesrs. I was 'very suprised that mine went away soon. I'm sure it would also depend on the amount of damage that the analogs did to the lungs.

I still have a wheeze from time to time but it usually happens a few hours before i end up hacking up more tar. Yes, i still hack up tar even after 3 months of no cigarettes. Sometime i too wonder if i have done some damage to my lungs that is irreversible. The good news is that i breathe so much better and i don't need my inhaler much at all. I think i have used it once in the past month or so.
