Hi Gem...
I'm kind of in the same boat as you. I thought it would be a snap to give up analogs. WRONG!!!! I tried just about everything, from hypnosis (waste of time and money) to the patch (why did I bother at all?) and finally e-cigs. I didn't need the GG or any of the other fancy PV's I have to do it. (Don't get me wrong... I really like my GG) what it came down to for me, was the right liquid. I just wasn't getting the nicotine that my body wanted. I was using 16-18 mg juice and still smoking 6 to 8 analogs a day. A friend suggested that I switch to 24mg until I could cut down. Worked like a charm!!! I quit within a week!!! Now I'm back down to 16mg and doing fine. Maybe this will work for you too. It's relatively cheap, easy to try, and well worth it without buying another e-cig. $10.00 ought to do it for you! Now, (at least for me) vaping is more of a hobby. The GG was just the cherry on top of the sundae.
All my experimentation (and quitting) was done with a Dura and Dura-C. Like you've read here, others have done it with a 901.
Crissie is spot on about replacement therapy... replace negatives with positives and you are on your way.
Give it a shot and stick around here for the support. We've all been there, and are more than willing to stand by you on this journey!
Best of luck to you!!!:thumb:

I had considered a higher nic level. I had only tried 24mg with those mixed level pre-filled carts that come with starter kits. Didn't like it--burned my throat but it was not my kind of flavor, either. I will give that a try just as soon as I pad my wallet ha ha

And....I did buy the 510 adapter from smokejuice....along with a couple atomizers stateside.

Being positive is really hard right now. I have good days & bad. I am really anxious to get to the doctor & see what drugs can do for me. Wellbutrin was prescribed to me to help quit smoking about a year ago. I didn't quit but I felt much better--as though life were worth living.

I'm off to go sell some more stuff on eBay so I can keep this up ha ha!

Bristow, Ok.
I pay about $23 for a carton of cigarettes. I have spent almost $700 on e-cig stuff (money raised by selling things on eBay). It is between my husband & I but I have been the guinea pig for the most part. And he isn't using his 901 anymore; been about a month since he's used it.

Even before the tax increase on cigarettes, I've been trying to quit smoking. I've tried so many times, so many diff things.

I do not understand how people on these forums seems to quit smoking almost effortlessly. Am I just not getting it?

I was a heavy smoker for 46 years. I had to get 36mg juice to stop the craving for a cigarette. Now I am down to about 18mg. I don't have any desire for a cigarette now. My husband smokes heavily in the house and it is no temptation at all. If I had to give up my GG I would be smoking again. Get the strongest juice you can find and don't give up. All you need to buy now is liquid and attys and cheap batteries. The worse is behind you.

36mg woof! I might begin there, then. The problem with some flavors is they burn my throat or the taste reminds me of dirty socks. I've been sampling tobacco flavors, but I cannot begin all over with another strength level.
Also, a neat thing here: some samples I HATED but tried again with Nano & actually liked them. RY-4 was one; everyone talked about it so much but it was nasty with 901. Now I like it with GG. Imagine that

Does the thorat burning increase with a higher strength--or is that all in the flavor/brand?

If you are looking for a smooth 36mg juice, I can recommend Totally Wicked Hilton flavour. Or their State Express, which has a sort of peanut butter taste to it :)

Lol sorry, I'm not very good at describing flavours but I just find that those 2 have less of a peppery throat burning taste but still have a nice kick to them :D

You just have to find what is right for you. I never had any throat burning. We are all so different. I started mixing my own juice.
