I had the same question. It's quite simple. First cleaning the coils. Dry burning is only enough for the 2nd time you wick. After that you will need to dry burn and cool it down with some water. I usually get a bowl and dry burn then dunk the base coil part into water. Do this a few times and it will get rid of most of the gunk. After a few weeks I usually dry burn and dunk the cool and then once the coil has cooled down, dunk it in some isopropyl alcohol and hold it in for a few minutes. Amazing how much crap comes out even after thinking it clean. Some people also get straw cleaners and clean the middle of the coil. Not gone that far myself yet. I usually change my coils after around 6 weeks on average. This is just my preference. Some people go much longer. As for wicking. If it has juice control then 3 days. No juice control then each day for me. Addicted to the whole fresh coil taste. Also notice that the wicking material and temp you ohm/wattage at can make a big difference. For most builds cotton bacon v2 is enough. Finding for juice control tanks that fibre freaks density 1 cotton blend works much better as it keeps the fresh taste for longer.

Thanks for all the information. The only thing I did not do is dunking in water, I will try that.

I replace my coils every couple of weeks but I like building coils lol. Rather than dry burn or clean I just wrap a new one.

Never had a coil give up on me. Just change them to try out something new or try to do an existing build better. It's down to the individual, like so much about vaping, which is why I love it!
I have been dry burning and cleaning. I will experiment with building new ones and see if it improves flavor.
