I have only been at this for a few weeks but have noticed that as I add juice to my tank (iclear 16/iclear 30s) after awhile the juice starts to look like motor oil. Doesn't seem to affect the taste or vape but the draw appears to be a wee bit "tighter". Do you guys throw out the juice that stays in the tank after it turns color or just keep filling?

I ususally dump out the old juice and clean the coils after 3 refills. Your juice is getting dark for two reasons.

1. sunlight causes juice to darken and does not affect flavor.

2. what's called "backwash" is when juice is pulled to the coil and then released back to the tank, that will affect flavor over time.

When it's time to clean the tank, and change the coil head on your Iclears, you can soak then in cheap vodka and rinse then, then dry fire to finish cleaning.

Dry firing your coils is pretty easy. Make sure the wicks are dry (no water) and fire them that way for 3 to 5 seconds until the coils start to glow red. That's when you know all the gunk is burned off and you can re-use it. Some folks do this up to three times before the coil is no longer usable.

For me it depends on the juice. Some seem to contain ingredients that produce sludge quicker than others. For my 'cleanest' juices I can go 4-5 tanks. For some of the others it's 2-3 tanks. One in particular that I don't have any more, it really needed cleaning after every tank. Not that I always did, but it needed it. I didn't get any more of that juice. It was delicious, but too much work.

if you are vaping same flavors don't really need new tanks just new atty's and switch out the atty's. I usually clean mine weekly so between 3 to 5 fills (?) I let them soak in bacardi lol it's what I had on hand...you can also between refills just simply rinse them under hot water to help keep them clean instead of soaking them.

I clean mine once every 2-3 weeks, or when switching flavors, whichever comes first. I also dump out any sludgy looking juice before filling. I normally vape 70/30 PG/VG juice, but anytime I vape a juice with more VG in it, I end up with sludge. I try not to get juices that will do this because I have found that it also seems to reduce the life of my coils.

Why alcohol for cleaning?

it took me a while before I tried alcohol for cleaning...didn't see the point but I had some bacardi so I tried it and it really did do a lot better job of cleaning my attys than just a hot water soak. lmfao and the first few hits off of the clean tanks is pretty nice ;) bacardi vapes WOHO!
Also alcohol dries/burns faster than water in the wick so makes switching the flavors a bit faster than trying to wait to get all the water out.

I know a few people have posted about using denture cleaner and I still haven't tried it...every time I go to the store I keep forgetting to get some to try.

Depends on the tank and how it is wicked. I just changed out the wick on my Aqua today after using it a week and filling it over 14 times, probably more like 30, can drain this bad boy real fast at the level I vape at. I don't get no backwash, and when I am out of juice it is drained dry. So I only rinse it down with hot water when I do a wick change and or, changing out the flavor. With the iclear, would probably be a good idea to rinse it out every other tank or so. This will keep it cleaner, and help extend your coil life by not subjecting it to the crud build up that you are getting with your tank.

Since most of my tank system are all stainless steel, I never see the juice, and since they are all bottom coil rba's wicked with cotton, when they run out of juice, there is nothing left to drain out. I usually get a week or two between wicking, depending on how much I am using them, when I do re-wick I always tear them down, washing out all the parts with hot water, dry burn the gunk off the coils, re-wick, saturate wick with juice, assemble and fill.

When I used a protank, I'd rinse out the tank every other fill up, and change the coil head when vapor production was down. As you become more familiar with you equipment and the taste of the vape, you'll know when your atomizer needs servicing by the reduction of wicking, taste of the vape and reduction of vapor. There is not set rule and every thing depends on your equipment, preferences and how much vape quality reduction you are willing to be satisfied with before servicing your atty.
