I have been an anolog smoker for 38 years, I tried vaping a couple years ago with the little 510"s. It helped but with the constant charging and filling of the cartridges it became more hassle than it was worth. Especially when outdoor activities were involved like fishing, golf, hunting etc. Well I am back with better gear and been smoke free for a week now! I really feel like this is working this time! Now I have heard all the money savings you have not buying REAL smokes, however I am several months before I start seeing a savings in cash thanks to all of you veteran vapors!:) I have been doing a lot of reading and learning around here, I have several items on order and a lot of sample juices coming thanks to all of the good advice and direction of where a novice like me can find to spend some money!
Now since a lot of you will be good friends to me I do ask one favor---------

If something unforeseen happens to me and I leave my dearly beloved wife a widow, Please please do not let her sell my vaping, fishing, hunting, golf stuff for what she THINKS I paid for it!

Thank you all!

Welcome to ECF. I am saving money, and I have shinyitis big time. Thankfully, a pack of cigarettes here are $14 per pack, so when hubby sees what has arrived via vapemail, I just remind him of what we spent on cigarettes per month. I also point to the equipment he's stolen from me and ask him if he'd like to go back to the generic, blister pack kit he started with. He shuts up fast.

Once you have settled on a primary gear setup, have a backup setup, a selection of juice delivery attachments, and a few favorite e-liquid flavors, your major costs should level out or decrease greatly.

From then on out, your expenses should be only additional juice, replacement coil heads (clearomizers), replacement cartomizers (cartotanks), or in the case of rebuildables replacement wire and wick material.

For myself, I have a couple of Provari's and an iTaste MVP, a dozen IBTanked cartotanks, Ikenvape cartomizers to last me several months, and a few months worth of e-liquids. I haven't spent a dime on vaping in three months. (Being unemployed for over 2 months contributed to this.)

You can save a lot of money if you DIY your e-liquid flavors. Buy your unflavored nicotine e-liquid in bulk and buy some concentrated flavorings. Simple basic flavors are easy to make, and there are more complex recipes available in the DIY forum.

My wife and I cant see eye to eye about how much I spend on vape gear spent about 400 a month on analoges but she isnt ok with me spending half that much so its taking me quite a while to get situated with gear I currently have a vamo v3 and an itaste mvp and swveral different toppers and about a dozen flavors of juice but I am getting there I just need to find a topper that has the capacity im looking for without dry burnt hits or gurgling after 4 days. Im thinking about tring a kayfun clone

I broke even at about the 3 month mark.....hope that helps

I'd have to agree. I thought it would have been sooner... but them found that I had to buy backups to my backups for vaping to fully replace smoking. I just hit the 3 month mark myself and realized that I haven't purchased anything in three weeks and have enough juice for the next month or two.

Was thinking how much I would have spent on smokes the past 3 weeks. That being said, I'm about to place another juice order, more for want I want, not what I need.

I don't think I have broke even yet since vaping 6 months ago....1 evic, 1 magneto, 12 hodge podge tanks, 1 kayfun, 1 trident, batteries, wires, charger, and assorted juices.

My problem is I travel a lot for work and like to support my community and hit a shop in about every town bad at least grab some juice.

Now I have my rebuilds down, kayfun kicking good, sub ohm trident clouding, I have settled in till a new rank come out....

There is no set time where you will start saving money. Some never will and some will right away.

Once you find your perfect PV setup and more importantly...perfect juice!! you will completely forget about ciggs and realize how much better it is vaping than smoking.

in the end, if you are after saving money as a majority of your reason for switching...once you find that perfect all around setup...it gets cheaper. The most expensive part for me was probably the juice over time, the most expensive upfront cost was obviously the PV itself.

I bought analog cig's for years and years on average of $12.00 per pack probably every 3 to 4 days so investing into an ecig and on-going juice was just a no brainer...fast forward 6 months and 6 months analog cig free, im saving quite a bit...I've seen some savings calculators on-line that do the math for me and apparently im saving about $3K a year...not bad.....
