Sometimes I can go a month without getting angry. But now with org changes at work and a difficult roommate, I am getting angry more often.

Today, I've done almost nothing but analogs, I just look at my setup and think "No! I need REAL comfort!"

Well, of course the analogs don't REALLY help but taking one to the front porch feels like the only reaction I can have to feeling helpless regarding whatever I'm angry about. Maybe it's 40 years of training.

If I could fix the thing I'm angry about, I would just vape away and fix the problem.

I am using about 1/3 WTA juice (not concentrate), mixing it in with my pre-WTA orders, and I'm looking into Snus but still....angry, fire, smoke.

(I'm also heading towards tanks, don't like clearos, currently using clearos and cartos)

If I can get huge clouds of vapor, will that make it easier to stay away from fire?

I already want another analog and I just had one.:-x

High Stress will do it for me too.
Usually half way through the smoke , I'm grasping wildly for my pv to get the horrid flavor out of my mouth.

Key is, the moment you start tasting nasty flavor , don't force yourself to finish cigarette even if it's expensive (clip it if you feel you have to keep it )

Eventually the urges will become less frequent, even during stress.

I usually load up a video game and kill things. Used to be WoW, but I let that account go, so now it is Skyrim. Now that I no longer have to deal with the teachers at my sons school I don't get that angry anymore LOL. A severly dyslexic son in a school system that seems to think dyslexia doesn't exist so it just has to be ADD put him on drugs just doesn't mix well when his mother is also dyslexic LOL

Been a lot of .... going of in life in general (not within my family) and a couple of times my wife has said she wanted a ..., NOW! Fortunately, I've managed to dissuade her with compliments on how well she is doing (three months now since giving up analogs). Last week she bought a bottle of lager instead of cigs and couldn't drink all the bottle! Doing really well and I'm so proud of her. Myself; I've gone a year and a half and in all that time only once I've fancied one. A friend who smoked came round and one whiff of her burning cigarette put me right off!

So keep strong mate. Distraction is the key. Or up the nic a little if necessary. :)

Not an option during working hours. Also not very satisfying on the Pandaren beta starting area but now that I've got a martial arts specialist in Orgrimmar maybe I can do that tonight. AFTER my 3.5 hours homework!?

I'm now trying 2/3 WTA 1/3 other tobacco flavor in a clearo, even though I hate clearos.

Good to know. I'm still in early days, have not quit yet, but I got analogs cut in 1/2 until this stress hit. Guess I just need to keep on keepin' on and have faith? (And get my tank up and running, waiting for LR stainless-steel cartos to go with it!)

It DO get better.

Just don't beat yourself up if you find it happens. You'll be that much more successful acknowledging the issue, facing it and moving past it.

I know some think that "giving in" puts your back a step, but with vaporizing, it seems to bring to the fore why we chose to do this over smoking instead.

The cravings alone for cigarettes have been insinuated into our lives over and over since even before we started smoking , so beyond the addiction, there is the brainwashing we've been through that having a cigarette is what we "need".
By allowing ourselves to see that it is indeed NOT what we really wanted, we move past it.
Forcing yourself to finish though? That puts you back into the addiction role , because those chemicals are designed to lock your system in.

That's why I said, if it happens, just remember as soon as it is awful( usually the first or second drag), allow yourself to be drawn back to flavor and more healthy breathing and enjoy the vape even more.

I know a few times now in the past two weeks since I dropped analogs I've been wanting one when I get frustrated. I just grab my PV and rip away on that until that frustration subsides.

I feel more relaxed off a tasty vape then a analog that just tastes horrible no matter how you look at it..

hang in there

Anger is one of my weak areas, too- anger and frustration, whenever someone triggers my idiot allergy, even worse, when I trigger my idiot allergy...

I vape something strong, harsh, higher nic with a really good TH, something I can really feel in my chest. Atomic cinnacide works well for me, but I've got high hopes for HHV Mayan Apocalypse as a good angry vape once it's steeped- it's a dark unsweetened cocoa with a warm chili spice finish.

Sometimes, I think it might be better to try to soothe myself with something comforting and relaxing, and that works for later, but in the moment? I just need to rake the :censored: out of my throat a little.

Org changes you just have to accept I would think. Roommate problems are solvable. If you can't control a situation then maybe at least talk it over with the powers that be. At least you tried. And maybe gratitude for the job. I was laid off and have been unemployed for a year and a half. It's all a matter of perspective.
You know that if you get angry you smoke. Cigs aren't the bad guy and anger, for most, can be dealt with in a healthier manner. I have a friend and if his water bill goes up $2.00 I run and hide because he is livid for hours.
Your situation is bigger than that but getting angry is directly affecting your health. It's just a job and it's just a roommate.

I really feel that you're letting your guilt over smoking increase your general feelings of anger. STOP THAT! The great thing about vaping is you "all of a sudden" find out you actually preFER vaping over smoking. So it WILL happen eventually. Stop beating yourself up in the meantime. I had smoked a pack and a half for over 40 yrs and discovered vaping June 30, 2011. It wasn't until Oct 7th that I completely put away analogs. Now I never even think about them. Everyone has their own timetable. Be more understanding of such a deeply ingrained addiction.

Good points and I am aware of that. Especially being grateful to have a job -- but I need to keep it, so I need to be able to do it.

But my question is: when angry, how do you change your vapes to help "comfort" you?
When frightened, do you do something different than if angry?
Those are both "light it on fire" triggers for me, and I'd like to move the triggers to point to vaping.

(It's also nice to know I *can* get there, so thanks for those answers folks!)

More vapor?
More bitter?
More sour?
Same flavors, but stronger mix?
More sweet?
Totally different flavor than the usual?
Different resistances/volts/watts?
More WTA?
Higher nic?

And the smell of a cigarette ?

I'm still a smoker, I've only cut down by about 1/2, so cigarettes still taste and smell neutral to me. Vaping, however, smells and tastes GOOD.

It just upset me this morning to find myself headed back in the other direction. Usually I smoke 1-2 first thing in the morning, then start alternating vapes and smokes (except in the car, which is vape-only) -- but today I just didn't want a vape at all. I increased my WTA and that helped. So did the encouragement on this thread, big-time!
