Most of the time I don't even take the caps off, just give them a good shake once or twice a day while they are steeping, I do have a couple flavors I like that have a perfumey or chemical taste when fresh from the mail, those require a little airing out and for them I do take off the cap and dripper.

I just leave mine in the flasks that I mixed them in for a couple of days, stir them with the glass rod and shake them up a bit every time I pass the mixing cabinet. Then I pour them into bottles and call it good. It's more of the when I get around to it I'll pour them into bottles steeping procedure. Have be known to let juice steep for up to 4 days this way. Also known as the lazy mans steep.

I know you take the cap off, but should you also take off the tip of the bottle to let it air more?

You want to allow fresh air in as this helps with the oxidation process BUT realize too much air and the nic level will suffer.
I use the Hot Water method and every day for 3 days I remove cap and drip tip and squeeze bottle to allow fresh air in to encourage oxidation. Before and after allowing air in you want to vigorously shake the bottle.

So would you agree leaving the drip tops on it in a dark cabinet uncapped should be fine?
