As DruidPriest said it's different for everyone. As soon as I picked back up my PV I quit smoking except for a relapse after my Atty died with no replacement at the time. I was a PAD+ smoker for 5 years, I'm only 18 1/2 now so theres that too. There's many here so smoked for 20 years and jumped right to quitting. Then there's some who have only smoked a couple years but can't seem to get rid of that one or two a day.
You smoke 12 less analogs per day, don't put yourself down, that is a victory. If you absolutely need to, up your nic in your juices, which might stop the craving. However, nic isn't the only chemical in analogs that your body becomes addicted to.
Just take it slow and easy if that's what your body is saying. You'll quit if you set your mind to it.

Good luck! We're always here to help in anyway, even if the help is just conversion :)

it took me about a week to go from pack a day (+/- a few) to 0 cigarettes....like mentioned, it's different for everyone, I just fell in love with vaping so much, I didn't want to smoke cigarettes anymore ... after about a week or 2 without any smokes, you'll probably come to hate the taste and the smell of cigarettes, at least that's how it worked for me ... most people that completely quit smoking fell that way....funny thing is, I still like the smell of the first light up of a cigarette, but not anything beyond that

When I started vaping, I had no intention of quitting smoking, I just didn't want to freeze by kiester off again this winter. It was a week or so till I quit completely. I was having a smoke after meals in that time but that was all. One morning after breakfast, I smoked one and it made me physically sick. That was the last one I had, Whenever I think I might want one, I remember how bad I felt that day and just reach for a vape. It's different for everyone. Every smoke you don't have is what counts!!

There's no ONE WAY that is right. Some are able to quit cold turkey. Others continue to have an analog or two every day for weeks before they are able to put the smokes away for good. It really comes down to how bad you really want to quit and how determined you are to quit.

I was a 1 ppd Marlboro Menthol Lights smoker for over 30 years. I chose 24 mg nicotine strength in my juice. The week I chose to quit, I had a full pack of smokes. I vaped as much as I felt like it. If I got a strong craving for a cig, I vaped more. If that didn't work, I allowed myself HALF OF A CIGARETTE. Saved the second half for the next strong craving.

Towards the end of the week, the smokes started to taste pretty bad, and weren't as satisfying. I was beginning to prefer the vape. Once the pack was finished at the end of the week, so was I. I haven't touched a cigarette since, and have never wanted one.

It's not how many cigarettes that you smoked that count, its the ones that you didn't.

I did it after 3 days and made a point to go for a walk and throw away all my remaining tobacco, filter tips and papers. I figured I could just vape but so long as there was tobacco in the house I'd still have an analog if I really wanted one.

Now when I get the craving for a real ciggie (two or three times a day) I'll just vape like crazy and distract myself here on the forums until the urge goes away (supposedly it's about 5 minutes).

The more I vape, the less I think about smoking so I don't limit myself - puff away all day if it helps you stay off the analogs - you can always cut your nic levels later and you'll know if you've vaped too much since the nicotine will make you nauseous.

Good luck!

I gradually cut down. I've been vaping for a good 10 months now & was a pad smoker for 8 years. Started at 12mg nic, but found that to be to harsh so went to the 6mg. I'm down to 1 pack of analogs a week now & about ready to give those up.

Wow, 10 months and you are still smoking with vaping. That really surprises me. I would have thought that you would have lost the crave by now AND hate the taste. Interesting...... Have you ever tried to go one whole day w/out analogs??

I have smoked since I was 16yo....am 43 now do the math....I smoked and I mean smoked 2 packs + a day and it was worse when I was gaming on the computer. I quit about 5 years ago but went to Vegas and about died for a smoke. My hubby still smokes though not in the house. I decided I didn't want to get into analogs so my brother suggested I try this and I have been a 4mg ecig vaper since Dec 3rd and I love it. I don't feel the need to smoke at all. I think like the others have said any decrease in your analog habit is excellent....Keep it up you'll make it.

Its probably because of the nic strength. I have been vaping and quit the analogs for about 2 months and the 6 nic just doesnt do it for me. I get the flavor on the exhale but on the inhale absolutely nothing, as if i was just taking a deep breath. Although 18 is getting to be too rough and 11/12 is about where im at right now, started at 24. At least in my case, without the "TH" it just doesnt kill that same craving.

I quit completely after starting vaping, but relapsed only a week later, first restarted smoking and vaping, then just smoking. After about a month of smoking like a chimney, I decided that if I could not take this unique opportunity that vaping provides, then NOTHING will help me quit. So got some higher nic than the first time and from that moment on, not even one stinky. It's early days (less than three weeks), but looks good so far.
People are different, some are able to control themselves and have a few stinkies while they vape. But for me, cigarettes are like ...... - so it's all or nothing.

Good luck! It always get easier!
