Did not think I needed one, just did not know of other choices or I would have skipped the look a likes.

I was mentally ready to quit when I discovered and bought my Blu cig, so I have to admit that this is why it was so successful for me in quitting my 45 years of tobacco use in the first 15 minutes of using it.
I quickly found it's limitations (short batt life, lousy but tolerable flavors, WAY too low nic content) and since I wanted to quit, I ordered bigger batteries, e-juice, and blank cartos within the first two days.
If the cig 'look alikes' at retail stores and malls were the only things available I might still be using tobacco, but I am glad they were there for me to try as a last resort and to get me interested! I still use them from time to time and they hold a special place in my heart because 'they were the ones' that enabled me to quit Jan 20, 2012 at 10:00 am.

I wanted something small at first. I didn't really want to associate it at all with cigs cause I wanted to get off them. Now I like larger mods that fit nice in my hands. It feels weird taking a toot on my wife's joye 510 too dainty lol
The only choices available here are the analog look-alike or the mascara bottle look-alike (eGo tank system). I went for the analog because the mascara bottle would definitely make people stare!!
Start up cost was one of my main concerns when I started; my wife had bought a Smoketip kit from a local smokeshop for $60, I thought that was a little steep, and their cartos tasted bad, so I did some online research and ended up getting the economy starter kit (1 'stick' battery, usb charger, 2 cartos, $10) from VaporNine; turned out to be a wise choice-their stick batteries are a bit above average, and the Crisp Menthol prefilled cartos made for a good vape (I order a bottle of Crisp Menthol from time to time still) and through VaporNine I was able to switch over to 510-threaded gear before getting an Inferno from Volcano a short time later.
I did because I didn't know anything different, so I impulsively bought a kit at Walmart because I had been wanting to try one, I researched more and more and landed here, and boy am I ever glad I did

I started with a modified e-9 type mini (3.5 years ago) and still use them to this day.
I still use some, but I don't really care about analog replication per se. I just like small devices. They could be box mods too. My eye is on Great Lakes Vapor atm. Their stuff looks cool. I think the trend of bulky tube mods is a silly image to promote vaping. I like the functionality on some, but ironically, it looks more desperate than having a cig like device. It sends the message that I need some bizarre contraption around to get a hit of nicotine.. making me look even more the fiend than if I had an analog copy. If that's all that was around, I'd probably quit vaping. After a couple of months without tobacco, I don't really need nicotine that much anymore either.

In every crowd will be different perspectives and needs. I say find on that fit you and never go back
I wanted the analog look-alike, thought it would help me quit, and it did perfectly. I still use them at about 6 weeks in, I like em' but i sure do have my eye on a couple larger, longer lasting ones

I wanted to pick two though, butI settled on "switched in a month". Funny how I was stunned its greatness! Its only been two months, and I cannot even think of a situation where I would smoke again. Already their second hand smoke makes my skin crawl (I let it crawl in silence, however). Poor analog smokers...they know not what they do.

I actually wanted it to be the size of a stinky but preferred it black. Then I switched for slim 100's as I was rolling tobaco and more often than not tended to roll really slim cigs.
Ugh. Yes I did and learned quickly the faults and hassles of poor battery life and slim juice capacity. Juice feeders are my main PVs now.
I started with the cig2o from the cigarette shop, then went on the internet searching for a different brand and tried ProSmoke...because I thought I wanted a look-alike...but both brands ended up in the junk drawer within a month or so because of poor battery life and carts not lasting long either. Those companies claimed that one cart would last longer than a pack of cigs... Then I found websites with ego 650 mah and ego twists, clearomizers and ejuices to refill, (all these that claim to last so much longer than the cig-look-alikes! and they do!) It was weird not being able to hold the larger batts between my fingers like when smoking analogs, but I got used to it. Within a few weeks of vaping I didn't have the smokers cough anymore and stopped coughing up a lung everyday. I'm happy with that!
