Where can I get nicotine for DIY?

I've been getting zero nicotine flavored EJ from a particular vendor and also getting 48 mg nicotine from them, and adding 1/6th of the nicotine to the zero nicotine flavored EJ for an 8 MG nicotine mixture.

The problem I am having, the nicotine from this vendor is less than USDA, and comparing it to the nicotine in the EJ I get from PureSmoker (imported from Belgium), I can definately notice the difference so, am thinking of getting higher quality nicotine from another source and using that in my mixtures.

I did a search on the web for this and, found one company in China that sells pure nicotine but, I really don't want to wait for a shipment to come all the ways from China.

So, what thinking all you DIYers <g> here have gotta get your nicotine from somewhere and could hopefully enlighten me to one or more vendors where I can get this.

First off, you probably DON'T want to experiment with pure nicotine unless you're suicidal. See this post

Now, having said that, there are lots of places that sell pre-mixed flavorless nicotine in concentrations that are safe to use, say 10% or less. Usually listed as mg/mL (milligrams per milliliter) which can be expressed as a percent near enough by shifting the decimal point. 4.8% = 48 mg/mL. 10% = 100mg/mL etc.

I buy from either RTS Vapes or Box Elder Chemical Supply.

Both have good quality and reasonably fast shipping. RTS Vapes has better prices most of the time but Box Elder has frequent sales and lower shipping rates. Incidentally, RTS is having a sale right now through Monday with an additional 15% off with the code "LABOR15" (no quotes) so is the best deal going right now.

On the other hand, nearly any place that sells e-juice also sells DIY flavorless nicotine in various strengths

I have to agree with Phantom here. I have never and will never purchase pure nicotine....it is way to dangerous for the common person that does DIY. Premixed nicotine liquid in your choice of mg. would be a much safer option than pure nic.

I have purchased from MyFreedomSmokes and Box Elder and I have no complaints about either.

100 mg per ml I believe is the strongest level nic we are allowed to discuss on ECF.
You need to be a trained chemist with special equipment to work with higher strengths than that.
If you try to work with nearly pure nic you are likely find you'll need to call a haz-mat squad to pull your a@@ from the fire.

There are literally dozens of vendors that sell good quality nic.

I bet I know which site in China you were thinking of buying from.
I wouldn't be surprised to find those dingbats selling plutonium as well.

OK guys!

I glanced through the headers in this forum but, yeah, could have done a search but, you guys were great with your response!

I wasn't really thinking of getting the pure nicotine from China. That was the only thing that came up with the web search.

I checked various EJ sellers that I know of, 5 or 6 at least (PureSmoker, StrictlyEJ, ELiquidPlanet, Vapor Kings, etc), and none of them sold the nicotine base that I could find.

What RTS is selling, is EXACTLY what I am looking for. 48 mg is nice for me because that does not water down the flavored base that much... about right. And it is easy for me to make 8 mg EJ, add one ml 48 mg nic to 5 ml flavored EJ in a 6 ml bottle and that does it.

And, I checked where RTS is located and it is in the same state as I am and... that is a lot better than China for sure and should not take that long to get here.

Again, you guys were great with your response! Just what I was looking for.

RTS is apparently having a sale, so they're the cheapest I know of.

Otherwise, nicvape is my source. $35 for 250ml of 50mg nic. No other vendor comes close to that price.

Have you folks found RTS and Nicvape's nic juice to be flavorless? Or does it have a sharp bite/smell to it?

Any nicotine solution should have a sharp "bite" to it as nicotine itself tastes "peppery" (will burn the tongue).

There is some slight smell to any liquid, as well. A subjective description should help in determining subjective purity.

Go with myfreedomsmokes. In DIY section. I ordered 100mg 500ml bottle a year ago. Still good. Get some gloves just to be safe if your buying it at that strength.
