Pretty sure I've been plagued by vaper's tongue since I first started. Couldn't really taste much from vaping from the beginning. No worries, mucho better than smoking. Anyhoo, after lunch with hubby today I was driving home vaping of course when all of a sudden, i actually tasted my cotton candy on inhale, and a delish aftertaste on exhale. Oh Em Gee finally! This is what it's all about. Excited about all the options I have coming in the mail, couldn't wait to get home to try some more. Then "POOF" it's gone again. Did'nt even make it up the driveway. WTH? This is just not fair. Dangle the carrot, then jerk it away vaping gods. So, will I get it back? So sad...

Yep, actually any acidis beverage but, lemonade is more water than most so, it's a great choice - so are fruit vinegars (old fashioned drink) Here's one I like.

2 lbs of raspberries (frozen w/o sugar is fine, or fresh) smash them slightly
1 pint of white vinegar
1/2 to 1 1/2 cups sugar or splenda (if you can't have sugar)
Bring to a boil, simmer 10 mins, refrigerate overnight - enjoy.

also keep in mind that smell is part of taste so if you are like me and have bad allergies, until your sinus' are taken care of your taste will always be off and since vaping is vapor I think it's harder to taste when your sense of smell is off whereas food and drink are more solid and cover the taste buds more. Just my random thinking anyways.

but good luck...maybe need to keep a halls around or a jar of vicks vapor rub to clear the sinus cavities out from time to time :)

hm...new product lmfao vapor safety kit...package of lemon juice and jar of vicks vapor rub to refresh the palate :D

Just wait its all just conjuncture and theory as to why it happens. Im not discounting the home remedy's but if you stand on your head for 30 min every morning eventually your taste buds will return to normal. Its not cause your upside down having more blood in your toung it just has to run its course each person has different experiences with vapors tong.
My favorite remedy was brush your tong with hot sauce if you do that one pleas make a video and post;-)

Vinegar is super good for the whole body and lower intestines. For my stomach ailments, I occasionally need to ingest a fair amount of vinegar daily. It contains acetic acid and is only available in vinegar in its natural state. I wonder if this has helped me with my transition to vaping and kept me from having the tongue issue?

Hi

Grrr... This drove me dotty when I started. The good news is the longer you have been vaping the longer will be the gaps between the dead spots. Can't recall the last time my flavors fell flat.

There is a possibility that your vaping style is impacting what's gong on. Try working at drawing the vape in and across your tongue, sort of like starting with a suck on your PV and finishing with an open mouth inhale. "Tight" draws like you are pulling on a cigarette can completely bypass your tongue.

Well here is my question.
Forgetting Vaping for the moment, what do other things taste like to you?
Salt?
Pepper?
Vinegar?
Sugar?
Cheddar Cheese?
Strawberry
Blueberry?

i.e. Do your taste buds identify all flavors you consume?
Tricky part
Could you identify to like textured foods Blindfolded? This eliminates the brain tricking you into assuming.
Broccoli - Cauliflower
wheat/Rye bread
etc.

Can you pick up on different nuances within a mix?
Mixed nuts
Sandwich

I hope the periods get longer. When I first started taste on everything was strong. Then one week of nothing. Now ranging from extremely muted to (almost?) full taste. Where this really messes with me is I started DIY'ing. It is tough to find the right mix when my taste keeps bouncing around.

Really dont notice a decrease in food flavors. I had a great burger last night for example. Seemed to be able to taste everything. I'm vaping a juice with menthol right now. Can taste the menthol, but none of the other flavors. I'vebeen drinking tons of water, and I'm getting some lemons today to try that.

May be something else. Might want to do some research on Taste and Smell. To get you started:
NIHSeniorHealth: Problems with Taste - About Problems with Taste

Try exhaling your menthol through your nose and see if it changes.:D
