I saw them during G4's CES 2009 coverage. I had tried cold turkey and patches before but I really enjoy the act of smoking so neither did the trick; the e-cig looked like it would be just what I needed. I ran to the internet and starting searching, the first site I visited was Smoking Everywhere, luckily I found this forum next.

Where I work there are a lot of smokers (high tech lot of young guys) so we're smoking a lot. Anyway so one of the guys ordered one of these things and my first thought was yeah right and electronic cigarette like that's going to be any good. light on the end that's just lame.

Still he came by my desk later with it to show it to me I took a couple drags and was like well ok maybe.

So I hit the ole google and started doing some reading. Unfortunantely I didn't find this site until after I'd finally decided that the unknown dangers of an e-cig were unlikely to be worse than the known dangers of a real smoke and ordered one. Luckily my co-worker had ordered from puresmoker.com so I just went there and ordered mine from Cash.

I got a penstyle classic silver with a blue led (figured if I was going to be smoking it in places that weren't freindly to smoking it would be best if it looked as little like a real cigarette as possible)

Now I'm not sure if this will work for everyone. But I've been smoking 20 years and I'd promised my wife back before we had children that I'd stop, I've been trying but I've had limited success. I've tried the patch I tried chantix (which actually worked fairly well until I stopped the chantix then I was right back on the killer leaf)

What I've come to accept is that I like smoking I like the action I like the hanging out with smokers shooting the breeze. What I don't like is the coughing the smelling like ... the dirty looks my wife gives me, the shortness of breath and the behavior I'm modeling for my children.

I ordered my penstyle on the 1st of January after procrastinating looking for a local supplier wish I'd just ordered online from jump since 2 days later the package is sitting on my front porch when I get home (delivered on a monday shipping email was sent on Saturday) Read the instructions about the batteries seems these weren't sent out charged so the instructions were to charge them for 12 hour so I plugged in my chargers (had ordered an extra) and went about my business until the next morning.

I had bought a pack of cigarettes on Sunday the 1st of Febuary, I probably smoked half that pack on monday (ok I'd actually bought 2 packs on sunday but smoked some of that pack on sunday) by the end of that week I had one last cigarette left in the pack (that's 9 cigarettes over 4 days) and that cigarette is still sitting in that pack in my car a week and a half later.

The last real smoke I had I was like "why the hell am I doing this it tastes like crap.

Now I'm just hoping that my Riskee juice gets here before I run out of e-juice (kept delaying my order in the hopes that Steve would get more penstyle parts in)

One final point for those considering this when you order go ahead and order two kits since you're going to want the security of spare parts anyway.

Howard Stern did an interview on his Sirius Radio Show with Former Major League baseball player ,Jose Canseco.
Canseco came into the studio hawking this thing called an
"e-cigarette".
Me being a three pack a day, thirty + year Marlboro smoker I just kind of chuckeled at the idea.
Later when I got home from work it came into my thoughts , so I decided to google the Company that he was hawking...
ready for this ?
It was none other than "Smoking Everywhere dot Com."
So I researched that company with their insane prices and all, which led me to many of the prefered suppliers of this,
and other knowlegeable forums on the topic of vaping.
Just two days ago I placed my first e-ciggy order...
I ordered $270.00 worth of supplies from "pillbox 38"
Including one stainless steel (platinum?) DSE 901starter kit ,
and all the extras I felt I may need.
Today I was looking around on "pure smoker dot com" and went ahead and ordered another $130.00 worth of smokeless goodies from Steve including one White DSE 901starter kit and even MORE supplies haha.
Am I going to need a truck to bring all this stuff from the postal truck to my house? lol j/k.
I can't wait to give up the cancer sticks
and start learning to "vape" :p
Thanks to you all ,for all the info that I have gleaned from this forum!.
Wish me luck :D

I'm brand new to this too. Stern's interview with Jose Canseco got me googling and I couldn't help but give it a try once I saw a few in action.

How is that model? That's one of the first ones that I was checking out

I answered online shop (I suppose eBay would fall into that category). Although I was not looking for anything even close to cigarettes or smoking. I had purchased some HDMI video cables from a seller on eBay and was rumminging thru his store listing. All of the listings were electronic related, video cables, game accessories, etc... then I saw one of his listings that said Health e-Cigarette. I was like, wtf? Kind of odd to be selling cigarettes in a electronics store.

Needless to say, after reading the listing I was extremely intrigued. I had to find out more. I think my next stop was youtube were I watched Leaford's original Top 5 E-Cigarettes. It was inspiration . Next stop was here :D. 2 weeks after my discovery, I owned one.

One thing that puzzled me though was how I did not hear about these sooner. Moot point though I suppose, but I haven't talked to anyone personally that has heard of them; including the local tobacco shop. So, I guess I am everyone's Guinea Pig.

I too have just one analog left in my pack. I have kept it there on purpose. Not quite sure why though. Remember the movie War of the Roses? Danny DiVito's character keeps his last cigarette in a case on his desk. I guess keeping my last one is the same symbolism. I'm thinking that if I can make it one month without smoking it, I will let my children throw it away. (My daughter has been begging me to quit :(.)

I had to go back to analogs a few weeks back because I had a bad head cold and couldn't taste the ecigs anymore (part of the pleasure is the taste) and I said the same thing... these things taste like crap! heheh :D.

Over 2 years ago, I saw a Chinese guy in the casino smoking a battery-operated pipe? I bombarded him with questions which he didn't really answer (I suppose he was sick of eplaining it like I am), just that it came from China. So I kept looking it up on the internet, until I finally found some spendy ones; but I waited til I found cheaper ones on Ebay to buy them.
