Some guy posted a thread about e-cigs called "Good Idea or Lame?"

I've been trying to quit for well over 10 years and have belonged to this group for a really long time. Most of the members have quit smoking for ages and ages, but there are a few (like me) who struggle or back-slide or just never really ever get quit at all.

So, while most of the folks replying to the thread were saying "Lame", I was thinking "hmmmm" and started researching.

Which brought me here.

You see, something I've always thought and told my husband hundreds of time, "I don't want to quit smoking, really. I want to smoke without getting hurt by it."

It's very possible that this is the answer for me.

I saw e-cigs on a promo for the TV show "The Doctors" yesterday. I wondered what they were and went online and found this site and Dusty's. By the time the show actually came on, I had already made up my mind to buy one. After a little comparison shopping and a LOT of Dusty's videos, I ordered my first one last night and can't wait for it to get here.

Just googled nicotine inhaler with the intention to give up and found e-cigs, I luuuuuuurve gadgets so it made sense :D I`m between devices at the moment so I haven`t touched a regular for months and haven`t vaped for about 5 days. Not quite climbing the walls yet but the platinum needs to turn up soon! To be honest I could probably give up all together but we all need the odd vice here and there :thumb:

You haven't vaped for 5 days!?!? I feel your pain!

I was at the mall and the girl behind the counter kept ranting and raving how she wanted one, so I said "not to eavesdrop but do those things work?" she said she never tried it but wanted one. Me and my girlfriend googled it when we got home and I found the NJOY website. I know now there are plenty of better places to buy from but either way I'm happy I tried it, I'll never go back to regular smokes. I'm going to order something better from puresmoker cause I love there service but till then I'm content.

I was reading an article on CNN, "If we know smoking is bad for us, why do so many people still smoke?" They asked readers to respond. I was looking through the responses and saw one titled, Electronic Cigarette. Of course, my first reaction was, HUH?

I clicked the link the reader provided to an e-cig website. It sounded interesting, but of course they made all the claims that 1 cartridge = 20 analogs or so, and all the other claims this site warns about. Their starter kit cost about $60 or so.

Since I'm not one to give my money to an unknown website, I did a Google search to research it. I visited a few websites then came upon this forum. I was so fascinated by the concept, I wasted 1/2 a weekend day (thanks a lot!) reading all the info on here.

I'm sure I'll have many more newbie questions, but I just made my first purchase today!

I remember finding something a year or two ago while wasting time online... Don't remember which one I saw but I figured that since I was a heavy smoker, nothing like that would ever work for me...

Then, went to Dallas on business January 2nd and ended up going through security like five times when my plane was delayed cause I needed a smoke bad enough to warrant removing my shoes, belt, etc.. in order to come back in and hope the plane was ready...

Upon returning to the office, was complaining to one of my co-workers about the lack of smoking areas in airports these days and he told me about the e-cigarette. I told him I had heard of them but didn't think they really worked... He said they did...

Then, started lurking here - next trip is next month so I wanted to be prepared, locked and loaded before then.

Boyfriend came home last Wednesday with a starter kit from Smoking Anywhere... I'm loving it! Never thought anything would keep me from wanting to smoke 'regular' smokes but it does... Anxiously awaiting another model too :)
