Where do I get that thingy

I notice many peeps have a banner/thingy at the bottom which says how long they gave up. Is that a freebee and how do I get one and add it to here! Can that also be added to sigs on emails?

I linked to one, but you can just click on someone else's and it should take you to the page where you can make your own. Mine comes from reddit.

Once you enter all your own info, it will spit out a code that you will insert into your signature. You do so by going to Settings -> Edit Signature. You need 15 posts in the forum before you have permission to edit your sig.

You need a minimum of 15 posts before you are allowed to create a signature. Bear in mind, once you hit the magic number, the servers still have to upgrade your account, which happens at 25 minutes after each hour.
