over a year ago when ceramic wicks were in their infancy. The conventional wisdom was they were an idiotic fad. you couldn't chain vape with them, you couldn't vape sub-ohm with them because they didn't wick well enough ect.....Well that's proven to be not true and we're still here and getting better. So I wanted to ask people what kind of coils and ohms are they vaping the ceramic wicks at....lately I've been playing with 27-26 gauge wire and hitting .7 .8 ohm coils and liking it....how bout you.

In my RSST and my v11 dripper I have it wrapped with 24Ga at .5 and .6 ohms. There's some play in the wick hole on the RSST and I take the fill plug out. I tilt it 180 to wet it and slowly bring it back to 45 while firing. Great flavor and warmth, only downside is I can vape through 3ml in an hr. The cap doesn't just get warm it gets downright hot to the touch which I don't really mind. There's a huge 1/8" hole so the vapor isn't overly hot. That RSST will never see mesh again, the bon 60 grit is there to stay. Now an AGA or something with a smaller wick hole I wouldn't bother with ceramic.

most people have to drill out their gennys to at least 1/8 for ceramic mostly because the fc-2000 was I/8 and you really can't mill the fc-2000 down any smaller than that or it breaks, the bon wick can probablly milled smaller though I've never tried. the first genny I put ceramics in was an aga=t2 with bored out wick hole. I'm thinking of trying to put ceramics in a mini bliss maybe fudge the wick hole and try and mill the bon wick thinner.

I wish i didn't have such heavy 'man hands'; i would love to give ceramic wick a go :( You know, i've been playing around with folded kanthal, it lowers the resistance of the build. Since you need a gentler touch /c ceramic, i wonder how, say, folded 32 or 30 would work?

Works fine..if your talking about twisted kanthal if you mean twisted flat kanthal it works fine with that just recently i wrapped a ceramic wick with the flat ....... wire which is 2 pieces of 28 kanthal twisted together then a piece of .5 ribbon kanthal twisted around them.....quite a good vape actually. I've wrapped triple twisted kantahl around ceramics no worries although you should probablly hot wrap them so the wire isn't so stiff.

not twisted, exactly. Folded over, like 32, or even 34, so you are wrapping two or more strands in parallel. The wire, like the ceramic, is fragile, but might not need as much applied tension for a snug wrap. If i ever get the chance to try one of these wix, i might try folded-over kanthal wire.

I've done braided 30 Ga and braided 28 Ga which is more like a pliable flat wire compared to my 24Ga. That worked well, but I ended up just taking the center post off my RSST and hot wrapping the 24 while on the atty.

The bon in my V11 is nice. Maybe because it has such a deep well and sits in a pool of juice. You have to get the coil height perfect. Too low and getting a nice cloud is a huge battery drain since you have to really warm it up. Too high and the flavor is depleted.

Looks like I need to wrap another coil...Ruh ro. I didn't even see that the kanthal looked rusted until I took that picture just now.
Basically a rod shape with a rounded platform for it to sit on. The bottom of it is hollow to reduce heat sink.
