I work at a movie theater, A place where I make house arrest bracelets, and a construction company.
I vape constantly at all of them.
I'm always handing out business cards and inspiring people to buy them.
The only place I'm a little more limited to vape at is the movie theater since it is customer based. I alway sneak puffs ever 30 minutes....or 15....or 5. :D

I vape pretty much anywhere at work, in meetings, at my cube during lunch. It helps to work in the high tech industry, when you tell them it is a battery powered atomizer they know exactly what you are talking about. One thing I do is i do not vape when in crowded areas (standing in line at the cafe for example) my co-workers say there is a slight odor to the vapor, but only if I blow it right into their face (he asked me to do it I swear!). I have found that other smokers or significant others of smokers are coming up to me and asking my opinion of this e-cigarette thing as I was know as one of the more hardcore smokers in my division. Long story short vape where you can but be mindful of others.

I go to the bathroom about once every hour or so. Aside from the confrontation, and even if I convinced my immediate supervisors, the corporate people like to take a set of CCTV tapes every once in a while, and I don't need a call from them asking what exactly I'm smoking in the backroom. I'm a $9/hr peon. They won't bother to waste time with me before firing me lol

I work in mfg and have vaped in my area a couple of times back when it was still too cold to go out. I was looking forward to being able to do that this fall/winter but now they have rearranged my dept and I'm beside two of the most bbbs in the south. I have vaped in the bathroom since I got my first pv. I get a kick out of "smoking" in the bathroom right under the smoke detector. The HR is a smoker and I have considered showing her but I don't know her well enough to know if she would freak out over the fda thing.

I work in a smoke-free machine shop (Ironic because of all the smoke and mist from cutting steel and cast iron) and with the exception of sneeking a few puffs here and there with my head in the machine while setting it up, I go outside and take a few puffs at break. Unlike an analog, wich I no longer smoke I dont need to waste 4 minutes smoking a cig, just a couple puffs and I'm good to go. When in the restroom I puff away because nobody will know because no smell and the vape disapates so fast. By all rights I could just vape all day while working but I dont want to cause any waves atm due to the slow times and all the lay-offs lately. There is one other person there that smokes and he laughs at the thought of e-cigs, he would rather roll his own and step out every 30mins for 5-6mins all day. I just tell everyone I quit smoking and try to hide my vapeing, nobody knows the diff because I dont go out to smoke and I no longer smell like an ashtray. Funny how I never realized how bad I smelled till a couple weeks ago after my sense of smell came back 10 fold. ;)

...I never asked about vaping inside...besides it's always easier to seek forgiveness than to obtain permission! Why would I ask permission anyway, it's "No Smoking" not "no Vaping". there is no 'ignition' source, hence no true 'smoke' with vaping.

That's exactly how I feel. My 901 is on the way and should be here in the next week. I don't plan on asking permission for something that isn't against any corporate rules. Besides that, I fear that if I do ask for "permission" (again...to do something that is NOT against any company rules), that a new rule will be created. Instead, I'll discreetly vape at my desk every once in a while. I plan on taking another vaping enthusiast's advice and exhaling into my shirt, which should be very discreet. Also it should help if I hold the e-cig on the "...."-end to cover the led and make it obvious that it's NOT a lit tobacco cigarette. In addition, I'll vape in the bathroom on occasion and I still plan to take my normal outdoors smoke breaks with the rest of my fellow smokers. Over the past week I've been telling many of them about e-cigs and a lot of them are extremely enthused about the whole idea and plan to purchase some as well.

I, too, am of the "easier to get forgiveness" school of thought. For now (knock on wood) there are no rules against inhaling vapor -- only against smoking. I do share an office, but my co-worker is rarely there and he knows about the e-cigarette. In fact, he asked me about how to get one, because his wife still smokes.

I am also of the "don't make waves" school of thought, so I only do so at my desk, where others can't see me.

I also vape in my office (both in NC & NJ). Everybody is cool with it or at least they act as if they are. I caught a quick hit about a month ago in front of my boss. He's the hard core anti-smoking type who usta complain that he smelled smoke on me even when I went outside to smoke.
We were walking back to our hotel after dinner and I just whipped it out and hit it. He called me on it... "What the heck was that?" he said. "Oh, uh my smoking was beginning to cause problems so I switched over to this" (for the good of the company and all) I replied. He said "This is fantastic! I love it!".... Now I use this thing with complete immunity! Ha, Ha, Ha.
But I must say that I am extremely IMPRESSED by others who have posted here. I'm an older guy and have been with the company awhile so many there kinda leave me alone about stuff like this. So my story is not nearly as weighty as most of the others I've read here. Older employees tend to get away with things that younger employees can't even think about.

Respects

I work on the sales floor at a walmart. Before i even tried doing it inside i asked my Co-Manager (The highest one really ever there that i get to see, because of my shift being in the evening) He told me not inside the building, but during rain i could sit where the opening for the shopping carts is where customer's wouldn't really be able to see... His main issue was keeping the peace, and a respectable image of the store. Which is fully understandable.
So i basically i have to still go outside, but during bad weather i am allowed to vape off in a hidden corner. (Which beats running across half the parking lot to the car :)

I work in a back office. I can hear anybody comming, so I vape all day. Not one person comming through my office has smelled anything. I've only showed it to a couple of truckdrivers and co-workers that I trust. Not trying to hide it, but the way things are around here, just don't want to rock the boat so they say. :)

Hi,

I just started and am mainly vaping at my desk. Once in a while I will go outside since that was my old habit. Like others I don't make a big deal of it. Only a few people have noticed and they don't seem to care. I think in this case it is better to ask forgiveness rather than ask permission.

My office neighbor chews nic-gum all day. He used to "bum" an analog a few times a day and we would go outside. Now he just laughs when he sees vapor in my cube.

I have to say that nobody smells anything other than my mate and he says it smells like vanilla.
